ok - are we saying it was a pay cut, or not? I'm confused. That is a pretty important distinction. If they offered 3 year extension with no pay cut than he is nuts to not take it. I guess some people think they are going to live forever.

Very sad to see Coach Brown redesign. Loved having him at SMU. With that said, have been very impressed with Coach Jank. Let's go Coach Jank!

Just depends on who you believe - as we all know, two sides to every story and truth usually in the middle. And of course we all know LB is not much for meeting in the middle on anything when it comes to his employers.

I will forever be grateful to Larry - it's mind blowing the difference now in the program and I hope we one day build him a statue for what he created. With that said, looking forward to the next chapter and not always feeling like there is yet another issue looming behind the next corner...

2017 commitments should be a good indication of where we're headed

LOL at Larry needing to prove something to get an extension. He literally turned [deleted] into gold here so I don't think he needed to prove anything else.

Exactly! If Jank was going to leave if Larry got the extension then say bye bye and good luck at your next Illinois State level job.

You can't argue that he didn't also create some "[deleted]" this past year that the program will still have to deal with even with him gone.

I will take what he created over what we had any day and so would anyone else. Don't forget that we were on probation with Doh and had nothing to show for it.

I don't like being this guy, but this would be a good time to try the 7-day trial on Scout to get answers on a lot of this. Love LB, respect the hell out of what he did to get us on the map, but from what I have seen and read I think we only go up from here. Maybe not at such a breakneck pace, but continued improvement and likely a whole lot less stress year after year about who's going to class, who's going to graduate, etc. I was as pissed as anyone when I saw this this morning (especially after last night), but after taking a breath and processing all the information at hand this seems like it will ultimately be a net positive for the program.

Larry Stepping Down???

I will miss LB and will always be thankful for the way he turned our program from CIT tourney to relevancy. The first UConn game, beating LSU, Michigan, Gonzaga, and Las Vegas were amazing experiences. I also like what Nic posted on Instagram, too.

Love what I'm seeing from players and former players - lots of well-deserved thanks to LB, but also all positive regarding the program and future.

To think we are only going to improve from here is wishful thinking. We've hit our peak under LB. You honestly think we are going to land the same recruiting classes under Jank? No way. Shoulda paid the man whatever the heckhe wanted.

Yeah apparently Larry Brown couldn't get good enough players to go immediately to the NBA thus the debacle. I learned that from a smart guy on another site
