I wish we could get them again. We should have beaten them badly

Why is that surprising? There are 77 brackets on the bracket matrix right now and it looks like about 20 of them have USC seeded higher than SMU.
So the other 57 all seed SMU higher than USC?
The teams are close (
http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketb ... on/SMU/USC). I figured a higher RPI and head-to-head win would give USC an advantage. But hey, we are only in the middle of January![/quote]
~57 have SMU higher or tied with USC. SMU is just slightly above USC in the overall matrix. Both 7 seeds.

just need to finish strong but 7/10 game might be the best we can hope for, unless we slip to an 11 or even a 12 seed which is a position I kind of like as a path to the sweet 16

If we are ranked going into the postseason, a #6 seed isn't out of the question.

I would take it either way...as the 6 or as the 11, like UCLA was against us 2 years ago

We would have a nice crowd in Tulsa I would think. Prob not as many as Baylor though if that matchup really happened and they were a 1 seed. That would be fun...

That would be a sweet 16 draw with Florida State in the second round.
I always think the ESPN bracket forecasts intentionally overreact in making "interesting" matchups, like us playing Kansas State in the first round with Jank.

Barring a huge upset in our tourney, AAC looking like a 2 bid league. Hopefully, we have another 4-5 teams in NIT and other tourneys
