In fact I bet there are clauses in his Contract anticipating he might leave

We knew he wasn't going to be here long if it went well. It went well.

I just don't get why Chad wants to go to Baylor and put himself into another hole to fix. I wish people can put out this one-time source for such big and disheartening news.

Honestly I'd be a little shocked if he jumped to Baylor of all places. It would seem like his ultimate goal would be to end up back at Texas A&M where he graduated from. Sumlin is sitting on a pretty damn hot seat right now and if he somehow survives the season will probably have to win at least 10 games next year.

He could go to Baylor and then skip out after a year to leave for A&M. Slight silver lining in that Baylor would be screwed over even worse then. They probably aren't in a position to get a big buyout in the contract.

He could do that but it's also the kind of move that would really tick off a lot of Texas HS football coaches. A guy going to his third program in three years would leave a lot of kids at places they might not have gone. Does he really want to risk dinging his rep with coaches for a bump in pay for a single year?
Re: Chad to Baylor a done deal..
It didn't bother him to leave us and all of the kids in his "family" after 2

He knows those guys pretty well, hard to think they'd begrudge him those pretty significant promotions.

Not too mentioned you're down at least 1 recruiting classes and most likely 2, compared to your rivals in the B12.

Re: Chad to Baylor a done deal..
As usual, I'll be the a-hole and ask the question - what has Chad Morris done that makes everyone think he's such a great HC? He has definitely upgraded the talent on our team but we had nowhere to go but up. His biggest recruit is still a big question mark. Through almost two seasons I've yet to see anything innovative or creative about his offense. His play calling and decision making in important situations has been very suspect and head scratching at times (still haven't gotten over his play calling at the end of the Tulsa game).
IMO, we should gladly take the buyout money from Baylor and take our chances with the next hire.

I can't imagine he would want to go to Baylor. That place is going to be an absolute mess for a few years. Plus, he would have to live in Waco, and nobody wants that. I guess everyone has a price, but if he stays and we have a big year next year, he could have multiple openings available to him, right?

Also, assuming he is coveted for his former OC prowess, shouldn't it concern his next employer that he didn't completely control offensive play-calling? You look at our play-calling and have to wonder what was Craddock and what was Morris.
