we are going to have to play quick going forward so more minutes for Gu and Dashawn are important. Both played well rtonight. Gu with 6 assists and only 1 turnover. SMU shoots 50% while holding McNeese to 30% and SMU had 51-31 rebound advantage

Yep, maybe I am wearing rose colored glasses, but I think we improve post Froling.

we might provide matchup problems for teams but will be challenged if opponents slow things down and get us into a half court game. Sure would be nice if Whitt was eligible and we had more depth to play faster

DaShawn showed signs of actually running the offense and playing within the flow of the offense and defense-I haven't seen Wilson do that yet. I'm pretty sure that's why he's playing and Wilson is playing less. I actually anticipated Wilson to have more PG skills than he appears to have. He seems to pretty much throw it around the perimeter

DaShawn was one of the few who realized SMU could attack the basket at will against this team-they rarely stopped the dripple drive-a couple of times Shake turned down easy drives to the basket-but he played great otherwise

I think SMU could have easily attacked most of its opponents off the dribble this year but for some reason has elected not to. Same for pushing the ball on the break. Still can't figure out why a team that plays 5 6'5" guys settles into a half court offense on every trip

Why not play the bench at about the 6 minute mark?

The game is getting rough and it's over. Let the bench play and try not to get hurt.

I think because they wanted them to get some team work in after "Finals week" when practices were disrupted., SMU played competently for one of the few times in SMU history after "Finals week" Jank noted that post game and was generally very happy with the performance for that very reason. Let them work up a sweat again

Agree, Tom seems more of a wait to catch it on the perimeter and shoot type than Dashawn, who is more of a slasher and disher. I still think Tom will be a valuable bench player. They can compliment each other with a little more experience.

Also, we can't sit guys with two fouls in the first half. We just need to suck it up. Jank does not agree, but this will kill us in conference.

It cannot be over-stated how bad the opposition was. They sucked..... The perfect confidence builder given our situation. We threw up some amazing percentages tonight, ones that will win just about any game. Let's hope we can replicate most of it against better teams....and on the road.

Yeah. There were at least 2 and maybe more times when Dashawn brought it across mid-court and simply blasted down the lane. Even though he missed the layups it was good to see that part of the offense for the first time in the post-Nic era. Very good to see. Dashawn runs on instinct and has a great court sense. Looks to me like he'll end up the best (and perhaps only) real contributor from this recruiting class.
