They worry that Stanford and SMU will side with the others if such a vote arises? I've got news for NC State: Neither the B1G or SEC want them.
None of us know for certain how many votes are required to dissolve the ACC. There is an NC state law, apparently, that says that an entity that otherwise has not so specified can do so with just a majority vote, If that holds for the ACCm then it would be 8 votes.
But I do not see UNC using what the press called the Magnificent 7 (north to south, UVA, VPI, NCSU, UNC, Clemson, FSU, Miami, plus Dook to make

to dissolve the SCCunless UNC, Dook, NCSU, UVA all land together with a couple other of the 7. Or better yet, to reform with a new name and a couple new member and get a new deal.

Also on ESPN online home page, and let’s face it they would need to rubber stamp it.

"Two of the three expansion targets, Stanford, the bell-cow of the group, and Cal, are proposing to take a significantly reduced revenue distribution for multiple years, starting at about 30%. SMU is proposing to take no distribution for as many as seven years, something Yahoo Sports reported more than a week ago. Options range from adding all three, adding only Stanford and Cal, adding only SMU or adding none of them."
This caught my attention. Options 2 and 4 would fall under Peruna's Law. So 50/50.

So we should be content to hold in our present situation? That’s the exact defeatist mindset that has contributed to us being in this position to begin with.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. How often has SMU had an opportunity to venture. We’re used to crumbs. What could be worse than being in the same conference with North Texas State Teachers College?

Exactly. Get the schedule that ACC membership will bring. And be glad a few will fund it.

This is the last seat on the last plane out of town. I’m sure anyone obsessed with continuing to stick with the AAC would be welcome up in Denton.

This is not the opinion of someone who understands what’s going on. It’s the last seat off the island. You pay whatever it takes.

True....but we are in a desperate situation! Too bad NIL didn't happen earlier. The big donors know this time it really is pretty much a now or never for SMU to get back in the big league. College football is changing fast. And even with this historical "no tv money for 7 years"...it still may not be enough short term or long term. At least we can say we did everything we could.
