Where does it say you have to buy 4 season tickets? I can't find that.

Ur missing his point-- he's been "donating" 3 season tickets worth every year.

Now he will drop those season ticket sales and keep 1 (or a pair) and up his mustang club donation instead=a net loss to smu

get it yet?

And for the record, I don't mind the point system. But it's gonna turn out like when we went cotton to ford--

I had been in mc from 91-00 and had 45 yd seats at cotton.

TheN ford comes online.

A lot of people piggy backed on high end donors and got 10-12 seats etc for a year or two, squeezing us 12 year mc members out to the 20s

a few years in and their seats were available again, and I resumed on the 40.

I don't know how the current point system works, but to have season tickets , 4, for 9 years and be a $500 level donor all those years to be squeezed out by a few rich johnney come lately's really SUCKED.

This just in -- SMU's athletic department is not a non-profit organization. Love is love. But business is business.

You either renew, move or get out. It's that simple.

U obviously dont have any business experience. Nor do you take time to understand the arguments.

Pointing out obvious factoids doesn't validate anything you espouse.

The point is, it's short sighted to royally screw the long term fan in the name of short term financial gain.

Well what kind of red carpet should the good ole Alma mater roll out for you personally? They're giving you the first right of refusal by May 1 to decide. Maybe they should send you roses with a handwritten note from June asking you personally to come back.

I've held tickets for 10 years. I'm completely fine with this. This happens all over CFB. If we keep winning, the price will go up. So get used to it.

I would have thought that they would have waited to have at least two good football seasons in a row, and then bump the cost. I agree with many of you that I have given thousands of dollars since 1989 and watched crap in essentially all sports, or at least the ones that really matter. I will predict flat, if not lower season ticket sales for next year.

He already responded on page 3 of this thread that he had misunderstood about having to buy 4 tickets, but I guess you know better than he does what he meant?

So if we win fewer than eight games next year, this means Steve-O will drop prices in 2011, right?

Yes, the ticket prices will go down in 2011 should SMU win fewer than eight games, EXCEPT FOR YOU!!

Free parking for the season?
Discounted tickets for the season?
Buy one get one free?
Free t-shirts with the purchase of a family pack?

Wake up! College athletics is a business. Either buy your tickets, move or surrender your seats.

Yahoos like you screamed for better football. Well, you just watched 8-5 and 45-10. You got a coach who has a vision and appears to have a foundation. The athletic department is doing it's part. What the hell are you doing except moaning and playing the loyalty card?

You're absolutely right! We'll never get back to big time football with a bunch of whiners. LEAD, FOLLOW, OR GET OUT OF THE WAY!

Apparently, some of our fans are going to be dragged kicking and screaming into a new era. With success comes a price.

Remember, you get a higher tax deduction with this plan. That's why you get that note in the mail acknowledging the gift. Always helps. In fact, when I told a friend of mine about that, he had no idea you could use the donation as a tax deduction.

Mustang Club donors.

I called the Mustang Club this morning and the ticket office.
The only thing the point system will affect is if you want to move to a better area or buy additional seats. On the current plan you’re grandfathered in on your seats and you will keep your seats as long as you’re willing to pay the increased seating requirements every year.

I have asked to purchase two more seats in my row next to me. So I will have to wait until after the dead line for people that have more point than I do to choose first.

I was adamant about having stadium ticket checkers in our section as my only requirement.. I was told that this WILL be resolved for the up coming season and will not be an issue.

With that said, I’m in.

Will they be willing to shoot first and ask questions later?
