Not a problem.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Or you could get involved and sue the pants off TCU. Have any friends there? That could be your in...

As much as you will hate this StallionsModelT, my contact told me tonight that the B12 is looking to move back to 12 teams. The four schools he mentioned as who he had heard they were talking to are TCU, SMU, Houston, & BYU. You will generally write this off I am sure, but this person is a well connected college football guy.

He dismissed the idea of ND joining any conference entirely when asked.

The ESPN Recruiting Nation show said the same thing about one hour ago.

They pointed out that the fact that SMU and Houston becoming members of an AQ Conference would result in more and better recruits for SMU and Houston.

Perhaps SO, JJ, RT, and perhaps Boone et. al have already run this scenario by ESPN and all of a sudden lil 'ol SMU is in the conversation.

All I can say is strange days,

another report out of Louisville has ECU, Navy and Air Force to the Big East-

That's great news! Was it actually broadcast that TCU, SMU, Houston, and BYU were the targets on ESPN?

4 teams for 3 spots. potential agony for sure. But you're saying theres a chance?? For once it would be cool if the University OF Texas would do something in the best interest of all of Texas instead of inviting a mediocre schools a thousand miles away in Kentucky and West Virginia. UT is strong enough, it doesn't need to worry about local recruiting. Please.

If it came down to SMU or Houston, I'd have to believe our power brokers would find a way to get us in.

As I recall, BYU wasn't mentioned, just TCU, SMU, and Houston.

It was Tom Luginbill who was discussing the Big 12 -2 (uhh 3?) realignment scenario and since it was a recruiting show he directed the conversation how gaining AQ status would improve SMU's and Houston's recruiting.

That was the most significant part of the dialogue that I heard as I was playing around with Windows 8 and was somewhat distracted but it was indeed what was discussed.

There are forces on our side...it's good for Dallas, it's good for Texas...can make the argument that TCU & SMU together in an AQ conference deliver a greater percentage of DFW...takes about 25% of DFW TV sets to top what Louisville or WVU can deliver...regionalism and tradition are what make college football fantastic...short-sighted nitwits miss the long-term potential of a dedicated Dallas AQ school...we aren't there yet, but with everyone on board, the sky is the limit...
