Likely? Most high schools don't have an IPF.

Drawing 16K for games is a much bigger issue than the presence (or not) of an IPF.

exactly-those empty seats just kill our shots at top prospects who decide to visit our games. What's more disconcerting is that after 4 straight bowl games the only real measureable increase in attendance comes from our opponents not from our own fans. We actually sell less season tickets than when Ford opened

because everyone knows that going to a low ranked bowl is not really that big a deal. we celebrate it since it is all we have to celebrate, but real success is beating our rivals in state (Baylor, TCU) and we cant hang with them currently due to our inferior recruiting.

Good news is this year does look much better as far as having our act together, bad news is it will take at least 2 years for that to show up on the field.

we will struggle with attendence until we can win most of our preseason games instead of drop all of them, and get into the 8 or 9 win range instead of scrambling for 6-7. Only with 8-9 do we get the bandwagoners.

Averaging 25,000 in attendance is even less of a big deal than making a low tier bowl game. Our teams have not been great, but our fan support is truly pathetic.

Even when we make a BCS bowl game, we will struggle to sell out our 32,000 seat stadium unless Texas A&M, Texas Tech, etc. help us.

We probably don't need to worry about reaching a BCS game anytime soon........

I realize that going to a bowl these days isn't at all the big deal that going to a bowl was back in "the day". But we did go the the Armed Forces Bowl and the BBVA Compass Bowl, and accept for the truly apathetic performance turned in by the Mustangs at the AFB, we had a GREAT time at each. We also had a GREAT time at the CUSA championship game in Orlando a couple of years back.

All that being said, no, it's not the same as playing at the Cotton Bowl or the Rose Bowl back in the old days. But on the other hand, I believe it is -- by far -- the best and most exciting experience in North Texas for football fans with possible exception of the Cotton Bowl and the annual OU/UT game if your alma mater is playing in one of those. Our product is far and away better than going to JerryWorld for a Cowboys game.

It's time for Dallas to show up! I already have multiple requests from the guys in my office to obtain football and BB tickets. Can't really say that's been an issue in the last 20 years.

This is just plain silly and I have a really hard time believing that you or anyone else truly believes this.

Secondly, even if you somehow think our product is better than watching the cowboys- the difference is that a lot of people care about the cowboys games, and very few care about if the ponies win 5 vs 6 vs 7 games. Without interest in the outcome of the game, it doesn't really matter which is a better "experience"

I think basketball has the capacity to achieve the brand of "exciting product" but football is lightyears away

if SMU is playing teams Dallasites actually care about like BAYLOR, TCU, Tech, A&M etc then the total game/boulevard experience is pretty damn good for those that appreciate college football. When they play Montana St or Sam Houston Monument it really can be pretty boring and SMU's support can be kinda of pathetic and embarrassing. Keep the camera low!!!!

As a follow up to some questions, Pettus is 376 feet north to south, which is a little over 125 yards. An NCAA 115-yard field or even 120-yard FIFA field would fit running north-south. #PonyUp

Yes but there would be little space at either end and balls that were shot over the south goal would wind up causing traffic accidents on Mockingbird

We'd utilize nets in game similar to field goal nets and the one we had around the throwing fields.
