at least 52 out of 65 P5 schools. Of course all 15 of the other P5 schools are multiple times ahead of SMU too. I guarantee SMU isn't anywhere close to these schools. It would be hard to find many Division 1A schools with less licensing outlets than SMU. Barely visible more than 2 blocks from campus

What you need to understand is we have a manipulated market now, designed to increase salaries and budgets to provide barriers to entry, through oligopoly and monopsony.
Free markets can lead to lower budgets and salaries. Freedom to spend wisely can lead to huge profits, and be fair to athletes. We would do well unbridled.

Ok lets take you at face value. Exactly how are free markets going to lead to lower budgets & salaries while demand for football (especially college football) remains sky high?

The popularity of the sport and people's willingness to pay high prices for everything football related will lead to escalating budgets/ salaries, not lower ones.

If we're going to argue free markets then you need to understand the concept of absolute advantage. We don't have it and are lacking the resources to hang with the P5 on or off the field. And contrary to popular belief we are not sitting on some untapped oil-well of money to propel & keep us at that level.

This has been made clear on the last 8 pages of the thread. So tell me again what magical free markets of fairy dust & unicorns are you referring to?
