Re: TCU fans
I have to admit that I'm jealous as well, but I'll be pulling for the Frogs against Baylor.
Honestly, I can live with TCU's success as they did it the hard way....and we should have done the same. Baylor lucked into the Big 12 and I'll never, ever support them in any way because of it.

Put it this way -- seven months ago when we were nationally ranked in basketball and TCU was in the midst of a horrible basketball season, I didn't feel the need to read their message board. The inferiority complex of that school and fanbase is unprecedented.

It's not a complex. They really are inferior.

And it's important for superior teams to keep insisting how superior they are, right?

Re: TCU fans
Some TCU fans/alumni are good people. There were a crazy number of Neeley undergrads in my program, and they are very good friends today. With all of their posts, I couldn't even look at my FB account Saturday night.
That said, they're one cheeseburger away from being irrelevant. Unless natural gas spikes to $12, they'll always chase the widening gap to the east. SMU just needs to get better at fan engagement.

Re: TCU fans
Told you so! But now Baylor has been laying in wait and not had to show much in their first part of the season. They will be fired up and believe me they will be showing the video of the poor sport TCU fan heckling the Baylor players in RG3s soph year as they trudged back to the locker room at ACarter after a whuppin.

Some of you still exhibit Fraternity Rush Syndrome-but you now just substitute where you went to school. Grow up there is nothing evil or sinister about any of these schools or fans. Its just a GAME.

Football loyalties are largely where you went to UNDERGRAD. The whole grad school thing is not relevant. If you went to SMU undergrad then you are probably a fan. If you went to grad school at SMU while graduating from another university your home school probably plays better ball than the Ponies have recently and thus..
Lots of Aggie and UT grads with crappy undergrad GPA's who have taken SMU grad degrees especially at Cox with their lax MBA admission standards. Folks who could not bear to go to UTDallas or TamuCommerce.

I would route my undergrad school over SMU if they played. It would feel wrong not to. But, at least the past few years, I do follow SMU football more closely, and support it more than my ungrad school.
Your statement, however, that "If you went to SMU undergrad then you are probably a fan" isn’t correct. Invariably, whenever a new SMU undergrad starts where I work and I ask them about SMU football, I get a polite response along the lines that "its just not my thing."

Also did nt get very impressed by the team. They were the fourth best team we have played this year, behind UNT even.
