I rewound and rewatched at least 10 times and that was not a touchdown.

Highlights of the game: Courtland Sutton's one-handed catch; post-game hugfest; um, the win I guess.
Lowlights: Defense; decision not to go for two; defense.

And the turnovers from Ben and West.

Hey Genius-if SMU had gone for 2 and missed then Tulane kicks the winning FG for the victory. Learn some football-Chad Morris made the decision most every Coach would make with so much time on the clock-exactly for the reason that flew over your head. that extra point turned out to be the MOST VALUABLE point in the entire game smartass. You don't chase missed conversions until you have to

Wow, why so hostile? I meant when we were down 28-26 and we could have tied it up. Miss and we are two points down instead of one, which means Tulane needs a FG either way.

But the point is had we not made it, and the game played out as it did, Tulane would have simply kicked a FG with 6 seconds left and won the game. You do not chase missed extra points. Had we needed to go for two late then you do.

Grumpy old bleeding heart. He got confused with wrong comment. All I said were the bad turnovers. Shame on me for thinking those were bad.

I hate that the game ended like it did based on a very difficult call. I don't like winning like that. But I hate losing more so I will take it.

Our D hasn't had the overall atheletes to be good and we have known that all year long. Not enough size up front without enough depth. Overall slow linebackers and young and very injured at the end of the game D backs.

We asked a lot of our D with it being under man over all. That to me is recruiting. HCCM needs to put a bit more emphasis gettig D players going forward.

I will take a bowl game any year.

Oh, and the worse we can end up is a winnig season.

Not going for 2 was a mistake. Everyone knows that. Geez.

Hey Ponyte...question about the defense...is the players, the coach or the system that gives us so much trouble this year, or a combination of the three?

Tulane coach should have tied it and gone to overtime. Big mistake on his part.

The two points weren’t a mistake but when we got 2 TDs Up minus 1 pt from a great kicker. We decide to do some pooch kick out of pounds. Never do any special teams kind of play. We are not that team. We probably won’t ever be. I feel like after that fiasco. That’s when momentum shifted.

Right again Nacho. Although our defense does seem to be very vulnerable.

Sure, I just wanted to add the TOs as that was the killer for the game + pooch kick. The 2pts to me was whatever.

I don't have a problem with trying a pooch kick occasionally, but kicking it out of bound was inexcusable. Why not aim for the middle of the field?

Exactly. It got them back in the game. They had tremendous field position and things went downhill from there.

There should have been two grounding calls from what we saw in the stadium. What did it look like on TV. Possibly would have made the last play moot.
