ate at the one in deep ellum yesterday. I'd heard a lot of hype about it from a bunch of friends. i thought it was ok. i'm not a seasoned fry guy, so they weren't my favorite, but the homemade ketchup made them a lot better than i would have thought otherwise. i also liked the homemde BBQ sauce. used some to dip my burger.
The atmosphere was good. i liked the schtik about everyone getting a famous name as their call number.
i'd go back to try some of the other burgers, but for a good burger at a much more reasonable price, my vote is still the point burger at 1st & 10, or the works at jake's.

Went to Dodie's in Allen tonight to watch the Spurs/Mavs game.
First of all, don't try to buy drinks underage there. A bartender was arrested there.
Secondly: their burgers suck. Dry and completely void of anything that resembles flavor. Their fries are weak, too - grossly overspiced and also not tasty at all.
Thank god for beer.

Dodie's really does suck. It gives off the vibe that they ran low on $ at the end of the buildout and furnished the place on the cheap.
I tried Burger Girls yesterday. Not bad I suppose. Burger's ok...fries ok...no draft beer, though they pour the beer into a glass so it seems like it. IMO, Jake's, Snuffers, and of course 1st and 10 are better.
Yes, they want to come to Dallas. Have heard through the grapevine that they won't develop any locations that become public knowledge, though, so don't expect to see any particulars out there until they are ready to make that all public.
The info in the article seems to be similar to what I have heard, though. They have several locations under contract but the family who owns the corporation is in disagreement about expanding to Texas. That being said, I don't think they'd have the locations under contract if they weren't 90% sure they would expand to Texas at some point.
