This may be a "snooze and lose" scenario even if we do get him approved.

It is incorrect to automatically assume that the Board and/or administration did not want this information released. It is entirely possible that Turner's name was released on purpose so the Board/Administration could see what the reaction would be if Turner was eventually offered a spot on the team.

That being said, I also agree with earlier comments that the Board and administration likely has no interested in what is said on the ponyfans board.

Care to share where you got this info? It isn't on Rivals. That's a big statement to say without having proof. I understand there is a lot of red tape to go through to get him approved by the administration and a visit this weekend may not be likely, but please don't make a definitive statement unless you have proof.

Since a non rivals guy broke the story, I am going to believe this guy in that he isn't coming....

who broke the story that he FOR SURE isn't coming? No one has posted a link or stated their source yet...

Also, if indeed we do lose him, I think it will be because we took too long and he didn't feel like waiting. I'm staying optimistic though :D

I doubt Turner is in a hurry to commit to New Mexico State after his visit. The campus appears to be in a state of disarray.

Grey Hair doesn't post much, but he is reliable.

Too bad, as I would have liked to see Turner in an SMU uniform if for no other reason than to further prove we are operating under a new Model.

I have 100% faith that if Turner was indeed a Mustang, JJ (unlike a certain predecessor) could and would deal with him appropriately, whatever his behavior was.

Grey Hair said he is not coming for a visit....so the hope is still alive.

He also once claimed that the new horses would only be present at a single game for the season. Perhaps he was told this incorrectly, but if his information in that respect was incorrect then so could it be in regards to Turner.

Samurai,

The single game plan was the BS that the athletic department spewed before (and immediately after) the Navy game. They said that the horses would then no longer be present "until a decision about their future incorporation could be reached in the offseason."

The problem with the info was not Grey Hair's source - the problem was our silly, two-faced athletic department attempting to throw tradition out the window.

SWC Grey Hair has made a number of authoritative statements (American President Bush at the Navy game) and I believe it was he who first stated that the horses would only be seen once last season. Rather that simply repeating a well known fact, he was the first to state would become the Athletic Department's position. Whether he is a tool of the athletic department or simply an individual with a source that is at times right does not matter in the final analysis, though, as he remains someone whose information cannot be trusted.

Hey Grey Beard, given the fact that you are being called out on your credibility, do you want to elaborate on your statement of "he will not be visiting"?

Wrong. He's not coming this weekend, but it is not over for us yet. We still have a chance, although it might take a little longer. Rivals has more details, but I just wanted to post that it is not over. It doesn't seem as likely anymore, but there is still a chance he could end up here. STILL A CHANCE!!
