Not sure when payment is due but timing could be a problem for many. FB & MClub amounts are due/past due, just got past tax day and it seems as if bball tix and related charges are upon us. That could be three pretty substantial hits in a very short period of time.

This is a free market system. Your choice to either pay the going rate or not. None of us are entitled to whatever the outcome of this. I'm sure SMU will do its best to recognize longtime season ticket holders and mustang club members. But if you want the AD to ever get closer to working for self sufficiency -- long way to go there -- then this is what it takes.

Agreed and I guess we'll see if the market clearing price has been exceeded and we continue to sell out Moody. I couldn't be more pleased with SMU basketball right now, so I'll be paying if those draft prices hold.

There is a higher chance that we get invited to ACC/B1G than UConn gets invited. If we manage to build and maintain top 25 SMU Basketball and Football programs, and DFW/Texas market for those conferences is GOLD.

While i can understand the need to generate substantial revenues from bball (esp. since our fball is totally in the toilet) I have to wonder if this level of pricing won't drive a lot of our non-SMU, off the street fans away. Plus for those who new attendees who can't afford this price of ticket it just might reinforce the 'common' perception that we are nothing more than an a 'rich boy elitist school'.

i.e., I wonder how many off the street, t-shirt fans will pay $100 per ticket to watch the whorens play 'the little sisters of Denton'. We saw how many f-aggie fans were willing to cough up $90 last year to see us play. I just hope we aren't driving off a group of fans that have just started to support us. JMHO.

Sadly, SMU will probably never have common fans because of the reasons you outlined. It is an elitist school and this thread is pretty much proving that. Kind of sucks but I understand, Miami definitely has the same aura and the reason everyone who doesn't go there doesn't like the school.

For a guy involved in ticket sales you seem grossly misinformed on the average price for quality college basketball tickets. I already gave you about 6 examples of similar schools with ticket prices equal to and mostly more expensive than SMU's tickets. Take a look at these per game tickets.

Here's an even better list. Average Ticket price for Top 25 teams. Not sure what SMU's "average ticket price" is but I've got prime tickets in 212 and it won't be that bad especially if you assign 50% of Mustang Club Donation to Basketball and Football each. Looks like $800 + $250 donation = $1050 /2 seats= $525 each /16 games= $32.81 per game. I easily spend that every time I go out on the weekend. These prices are fair, probably below market especially for DFW and competitively necessary because of the small revenue potential in such a small 7,000 seat arena. Are you comparing SMU basketball to Duke basketball? The way that was outlined in the draft was per seat. Per seat, that was expensive. And this team went to the NIT last year, not the Final Four. Either way, I don't really care, it doesn't affect me. I'll support the team as always but it makes it hard for common fans to be fans of the team. I imagine there are a lot of 30K millionaires in Dallas that won't be able to afford those prices.

How much is the season total for 4 really good seats?

I now live in Las Vegas and have 4 UNLV Rebels Basketball tickets in the 2nd row baseline. We pay $11,500 a year for the 4 seats. Works out to $7,500 for Rebel Athletic Fund Donation and $4,000 for the 4 season seats.

How does that pricing compare to SMU's new structure?
