For example, what if Mack Brown was contingent on Applewhite, Ricky Williams, Vince Young as coordinators etc ?.... Bring in the youth/college stars to recruit and Mack to seal the deal if need be......Even if you guys hate Mack (which I kind of do), I think packages could be what a school like SMU needs. It's hard for one guy to recruit 24 guys per year....and if you send a nobody coordinator from weak school, your chances to land the recruit are slim...
Aside from Applewhite, who in that group is actually going to coach?

Mack Brown is interesting to me. That said, I think he's happy sitting on his giant mound of cash and doing his thing on ESPN. The guy is in his 60's. Not sure he has the fire in the belly we need here at SMU.

Maximum effort!
Good hard football!
Passion for the game!

Babers would be a great one to interview. You need to hire someone that runs the spread as that's what most high schools are running, so you may as well hire the only guy not at Baylor that runs the Baylor offense. It's #1 in the country for a reason.
Someone asked early on for a top recruiter in Texas that's an assistant and the top guy that fits that description (the recruiting part) hasn't been mentioned yet: Kendal Briles. He's not even a coordinator, though, so it's probably a bit early for a head job. In also curious if he'd even be willing to leave his dad.
