I posted on this back when it happened. The guy was a student at SMU and I believe worked the games unpaid for a class. A thread was started about how the production had fallen off from Jan-March 2014 to the first few games in Nov-Dec 2014 and the guy randomly pm'd me to tell his story because of my post in the thread. I know all stories have two sides but I had no reason not to believe him. After the Cincinnati (Feb 2014) game he was contacted by a rep from Cincinnati to see if he would be interested in a job with the school to work gameday production for their basketball games. He went to the SMU admin and told them about it in hopes they would offer him a similar paid job. He said SMU made no effort to get him to stay and basically said good luck at Cincinnati.
I haven't heard from him since. No clue if he's still at Cincinnati or what but he's definitely not here.
Pretty sure he graduated from SMU in the 80s and had worked in similar roles for other universities in between.
I think the video was well done last night, but I think I might be in the minority around here. I don't think we ought to use this song every year. It was a great song and great idea for the first year in Moody. I am in the majority though in thinking that these other songs have been awful. I think this years is ok, I don't think it has the emotion that the first one has, but it is better than the others. Why can't we do a different intro song each week, something relevant to the team we are playing or the significance of the game?

That's the part that bothers me. For two seasons now they have come up with one that is widely viewed as a total dud, but they stick with it the entire season. Seems lazy to me.
Maybe he was teaching a class?? I can't remember as I deleted the message for some reason. I do remember what he told me was kind of vague as he didn't want to throw anyone under the bus.
SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four 2014-15 & 2016-17 AAC Men's Basketball Champs
He wasn't unpaid. He got more to go to Cincinnati and SMU didn't match. The game presentation also isn't as awful as its portrayed on here. The neutrals who I've taken to games love moody. People on here get hung up on particular songs and specific videos and forget it's the students and crowd that make moody special -- last night should be a reminder of that. A building full of people sitting on their hands.

Yeah, its a shame given that It was larry's first game back, but I think this was exactly the reason. Ugly game, and fact is the program isn't must see and culturally crazy enough yet to have that critical mass of energy for every game, but its slowly happening.
6 oclock tip for cinci, but I'd bet by first media time out the energy is there
Would you guys rather have your favorite song played or go undefeated in front of sellout crowds? Seriously! The ten people who [deleted] about this are in the extreme minority. It's not a big deal. Go to Tulsa or Memphis or Louisville and see how much better we do with the games. It's way cheesier than what we have.
