agree but hccm had his potential Deshaun Watson and lost him to memphis kittykats.

He also lost Brewer, who after watching against TCU will be really special one day.

Morris didn't lose Brewer--Baylor being P5 was the factor that persuaded Brewer. Brewer preferred to be coached by Chad Morris but at a P5 school

Brewer also bolted because he had a much better chance at playing sooner especially after we brought in Peavy and Gillins.

Didn't have anything to do with it-he and his entire family thought he should redshirt. The guy is a competitor and had the best season in Texas at its highest level-he felt he deserved to compete at the P5 level

That Baylor OL is going to get him killed.

So Brewer was only interested in playing for a P5? Why were we recruiting him - we aren't a P5? The better discussion was NFL. There are lots of QBs making NFL $$ that didn't play for a P5 and a lot that did that never made it to the NFL.

He was the Player of the Year in Texas AFTER he committed to SMU. He actually drew a lot of late offers from P5 schools that haven't even been reported. He probably would have stayed with SMU though without an Texas area P5 offer

Well I guess we should go back to recruiting players that do not want to play P5 football and don’t have P5 offers like the previous coaching staff did.

Arkansas has named their top 4 prospects for a coach and said one will be named by the middle of next week. They are, in no particular order:

Gus Malzahn
Brent Venables
Mike Norvell
Chad Morris

Norvell appears to be the main target unless Malzahn loses on Saturday, then the push will be for him.

Also, they are supposed to hire a new AD sometime this week to make the hiring smoother.

I wonder how much they have vetted Norvell.

I'm sure it might had something to do with it since he somewhat knew he might not play for his first 3 years here and at Baylor it could happen in his first year. Wish we could have hung onto him since his upside is much higher than Hicks.

TexAgs is reporting that there will be a meeting of Aggie governance with AD Woodward tomorrow at 2 pm to go over legal and other issues in making an offer to a prospective new football coach. Reported that the offer is 10 year at 7 million a year for Fisher.

My cow, didn't think they would pull the trigger. I was wrong.

Hogs really think they can get Malzahn from Auburn?

If he loses Saturday they put their chances at 70/30.
