Make up your mind. If you want to go with the "this is 2004" theory, then the teams are 0-0 against each other. If you want to look at history to back your misguided claims, then you have to include all history - in which case this series is essentially a dead heat. Comparing points? Compare them for all games. I don't know who's ahead on that, and frankly I don't care.
Enjoy the game.

Dude, what happened to SMU's pride. 5 years ago I would come on here and say SMU had lousy academics, pathetically high acceptance, and that yall were owned by TCU in every sport......this would instantly incite at least 10 guys trying to defend their school. Now all I get is one idiot saying "dude" a lot and telling me he's not sure where Ft. Worth is.

I haven't been on the SMU site in a few years (try not to kick a man when he's down) but I thought after the Tech game some of the SMU faithful would be getting excited. I guess yall are still down on your school but I hope I'm wrong and there are thousands of rowdy SMU fans at the game. If not, I will conclude that the biggest problem at SMU isn't the death penalty, declining academics, recruiting standards, or poor athletics.....the problem really may be the people. I sincerely hope SMU comes out in full force on a glorious Saturday afternoon and proves me wrong. Only one reply to all my attacks. Even if they are all true, I expected a few guys to at least try to defend SMU. So much for pregame smack talk.

See you at the game!

I looked at some admissions information from various sources. The average SAT score at SMU appears to be in the 1220 range (although the University refuses to confirm that number). That is about 100 points higher than TCU's average. Yes, SMU accepts about 60% of its applicants. The average GPA was about 3.5. So, yes SMU is academically ahead of TCU. We have a faculty head and shoulders above the Frog faculty. We have facilities that are great and cutting edge. And we're in Dallas, cows don't roam our streets like in Ft. Worth.

sounds pretty generic and outdated to me, maybe you have a link to SMU 2004 freshman class to give some creditibilty to these claims

Hopefully the SMU students will take buses over to Ft Worth for the TCU game, it should be great weather, tough football, and they can have a change of scenery in the nightlife and see the cows roaming the streets.

You want to talk academics? I'll talk academics. The reason no one is, is it is not a comparison. SMU is by far the best academic school in the Metroplex. We have also had our biggest number of people to apply ever in the history of the school in the past 3 years. You are forgetting a huge point in that statistic, however. TCU has a lot of bone heads apply because everyone has the impression it is easy to get in to TCU. Most of those boneheads will not even try to get into SMU. So, while you might have more people apply it does not make you a better school. You are a bigger school for one thing and should have more people apply. Our Law school is second to only UT in the state. You don't have one. Our business school (I know yours is hard to get into, but that's within the school) is ranked 14th in the nation and is behind only UT in the state as well, but their B-school being better than ours is highly debatable. We lost a lot of ground by losing some important people, but we have regained 13 spots on the national business school picture in the past year. In 2002 we were 9 and UT was 10. In 2003 we dropped to 27. We are now back to 14 as I previously mentioned. TCU is a great school, but even our journalism department is passing yours up and that is about the only thing worth going to TCU for. (unless of course you pick a school by football team...of course that would be stupid because as much as I hate this mid-majors will never get into a BCS bowl...not even in the GREAT MWC!)
We must shake the \"snob\" reputation. Bring Dallas back to SMU.

TCU OWNS SMU wrote:Well I guess you were #20 in your graduating HS class and had better than 1200 SAT, but most of your SMU classmates didn't....and therefore were passed over by TCU. These are the simple facts. To make you feel better, SMU has much better grad schools, but that's not saying much. As for undergrad, it has become very clear who is superior.

Yes, I want to talk academics. Maybe you didn't noticed but I already said SMU has better grad schools. But I am impressed that your law school is better than ours. Great achievement since TCU has no law school. I'm still ready to talk academics when you have any recent evidence that your University (undergrad) is on the same level as TCU.

You obviously don't have anything to back up your stats. If you did, you'd know that TCU has about 2,000 fewer students than SMU. And I won't even touch the rest of that, because you do a good enough job showing your ignorance without anyone else helping.

Sorry my numbers were a little off. Here is the undergraduate enrollment.

Undergraduate Enrollment 6,299 for SMU 6,933 for TCU

courtesy of collegeboard.com
That did not make my point so get off of it. I can back everything else up if you'd like. You won't say anything else because you don't want to get attacked (don't worry...gunn will get attacked plenty for you...look for 5 sacks on that biatch).

If we paid our players too we would have won six in a row.

Go Ponies - although I think it's hopeless unless we break out our white helmets.
