I'd love to sit here and write that I expect us to win every game next season. But I'm (a little) more realistic than that. I think we win 3-4 next year, and frankly, while I'd love to see more, I'll be happy with that progress as the team begins to come of age.

Go MUSTANGS!

Honestly, what did you predict for this season?

With my extremely limited knowledge of football, I predicted 4 wins this season..Sadly, It appears the team will be 3 short.

I thought we'd find two wins on this year's schedule and I still do. I hope someone comes to watch the Nevada game, as that may be our best shot.

Next year, we win 3-4 games but more importantly, I don't think we get blown out regularly in our defeats. By 2006, SMU football is competitive enough that some fans that have been awol for years get curious and start coming back to attend an occasional game.

Meanwhile, over at Moody, Jimmy Tubbs' Mustangs are the surprise team of the 2004-2005 WAC season and earn a bid to the NIT. Suddenly, more than the usual 1500 are filling the seats and Moody and Dallas area players take notice. By the 2006-2007 season, SMU is averaging over 5,000 at Moody and nobody in CUSA looks forward to visiting Dallas.

I've always been a dreamer, but despite the misery of this past year or two, I see good things happening in the next couple of years. Color me a sunshiner, because if I was convinced things weren't going to improve, I wouldn't be wasting my time on this site.

I believe I predicted 2 wins for this year and thought 3 would be a very good season. I still think we'll win 2. I am much more optimistic for 2005. I believe a 5 win season is most likely and will be disappointed in anything less.
I share the same dream about filling Moody and making it the hardest place in the USA to play. Just the students going to every game could make that a reality with the 1500 local alums who still care. Tubbs must produce this year for things to start changing for the positive in b'ball. I think an NIT is very realistic and dare I dream.... I can't wait for basketball season although I know there are a lot of us who are also still pulling hard for the f'ballers every week..

Since the quick fix ain't gonna happen, I guess I better find a new team. Cause another 15 years of this slow fix is gonna kill me.
