Personally I don't care to ever hear the UT band again. It is amazing to me that our Mustang Band of 70 to 80 can outblow and outperform the 300+ Longhorn band playing outdoor concert music. There are silver linings to the breakup of the SWC.

"I've Been Working on the Railroad" (copyright 1936) was never one of my favorites, either. How about Taps for a fight song? You get that in the UT package, too.

I hope the athletic/marketing department can come up with a lights-out theme/promotion to sell a zillion season tickets. We oughta set a sales record with this schedule... East Carolina is the only real "stranger"... we know the rest. Five of the six have the alumni connection to Dallas and/or will travel halfway decent. We oughta average 25-28,000 with a couple of early wins.
Can we all agree that East Carolina should be the Homecoming Game???

Of course, we get to hear the Aggies play "When Johnnie Comes Marching Home" at a dirge pace. The song dates back to the Civil War. Not much better than taps.

Don't be too critical. Our fight song is a speedy version of "She'll be Coming Round the Mountain". And the corny words that go with it.
Today's trivia question:
Do you know the words to Peruna?

Yeah, I could live three life times without hearing the UT band, and it still wouldn't be long enough.
"She'll be loaded with Peruna when she comes."
That's all I know.
