I went there for dinner last week -- it's terrific. I highly recommend it!

Two of us, including tip and two exceptional sopapillas, I made it out for under $25--comfortably.

Manny's review

I went with the family last night. Great Chile Relleno's, great guacamole, great atmosphere. And when they get their bar open, some very good viewing.

This article gives Manny's a great review.

Also, very informative about specific dishes.

Sounds like a great Tex-mex/pony place!

Went to Manny's Friday night around 8 with the wife and stepdaughter. Walked into the bar and who should be standing there but SMU HEAD FOOTBALL COACH PHIL BENNETT! We spoke for a couple of minutes and then we waited for a table for about 40 minutes. VERY CROWDED!

But once we got seated, it was AWESOME! GREAT FOOD (ORDER THE MANNY SPECIAL!) and GREAT DRINKS!

For three of us, our meal came to less than $50...including alcoholic beverages!

Mr. Mustang 1965 gives Manny's two big pony ears UP!

And ask for Henri for your waiter...he's hilarious!

There were a bunch of Mustangs there last night. This is the newest Mustang hang out for students and alums.

When the bar is opened in the back, they will have a needed waiting area for the large crowds. They need a happy hour from 4-6 on Fri.

It would be nice to hear 'Stampede's input on the new joint. He has a vested interest, and I know he doesn't like to toot his own horn, but I'm wondering if this place will grow into something where, just as with the Spirit Shop on a game day, one will hear Bob Sharp's distinctive voice greeting SMU fans.

Are the chips as good as El Fenix?

Post by Sam I Am »

I ate at El Fenix on Lemmon and rediscovered the best chips in Mexican food land. How are the chips at Manny's?

My wife and I drove to Manny's for lunch Friday. When we arrived at 12:40 you could not even stand on the porch out front.

We will give it a try later but from what I hear... its going to be a time when we can wait a while.

Once the additional bar/room is opened, I think things will spread out better. and should make a few more tables available. The code enforced improvements to the room are essentially complete, they are waiting for the city inspectors to show up. Manny also indicated to us that he is purchasing some more tables & chairs, possibly for the outside area as well.

Yes, many recognizable SMU alumns have been coming in. Also Herschel Walker has been in twice. He's a long time friend of Manny's. Expect a few other Cowboy greats there as well.

The chips at Manny's are good...not as good as El Fenix's, imo. But the food puts El Fenix to shame! So...take your pick...chips or main dish. I'm still digesting last night's incredible meal!

That's pretty f'ing disgusting. Hope you're good enough to provide your new wife with her own bathroom.

But based on your digestive system's recommendation, I'll check the place out.

Chips are fine. Nothing earth-shattering, but plenty tasty -- queso is pretty good. too. Comparing Manny's to El Fenix is like comparing a Ferrari to a Yugo. Manny's is pure greatness.

We were back there again tonight, and Keyshawn Johnson & Don Henley were in the house.
