I kinada' like the oaksters prediction:

as predicted by oakley when he wrote:SMU -6
Baylor -42

By that, somewhat flawed, Baylor logic, SMU wins by 36!

I'd just like to know how oakie figures the score dips into negative numbers.

According to my briother who graduated with a BBA from Baylor, they don't have an engineering school there, and DO NOT have classes in that "new math" yet.

I confidently predict that if SMU loses to Baylor a wave of revulsion will fill this board, and I just might be one of the first to desert the sinking ship. Our pre-season hopefulness won't last beyond Sept. 3rd. I must admit that this time I don't automatically think that SMU will lose this game, but I am not ready to bet on it. Where is the Rich Alum when you really need him?

Since a look at last year's Sagarin makes this basically a pickup, given our home field, it will come down to who is most improved or prepared for the game.

To that end, the fact that we have so many more returning starters gives us the edge at least in the likely more prepared category.

SMU 28
BU 21
:D

Don't feel like you are the first to desert - I have dozens of SMU friends who long ago became Husker fans or IowaSt fans or whatever. You'd have thought they graduated from their "adopted" schools. Some fans have no loyalty.

SMU: 24
BU: 14

Sadly... I can no longer make the game now. Friend at med school at Tulane needs help moving stuff back to B-ham. Meeting him in MS.

Have a few on the Blvd. for me, and I'll make sure to check the ESPN-scroll screen to see how we're doing.

Mix in some prayers with the smack talk and rooting for your team. Tulane's stadium (SuperDome) already has holes 6-feet wide in the ceiling. The flooding could cancel their season if it's as bad as predicted.

Hope to come back to hear about an SMU win...

Again, Baylor fans predicting Baylor will win. SMU fans predicting SMU will win. This was such a worthwhile thread. I can only imagine how future generations will study this thread to uncover what mysteries lie at the center of this epic struggle that cannot be resolved. I can only imagine that there is some Samford fan over at the Baylor Board saying, "Seriously guys, who do you think will win? I think it will be close, but I like our chances."

My honest prediction: Some really bad football played by two really bad teams. Pretty much same as last time.

I hope yall beat 'em like we did in 2003... its fun to hang 50 on "BCS caliber" teams, even if it is Baylor

Hey that's no different than your fluke against A&M last year, hypocrite.

SMU -who can't win in September vs. Baylor-who can't win on the road
