The fact of the matter is that there are a whole lot of problems besides the AD and football coach. With the snails pace of reforming the recruiting restrictions and the lack of appropriate majors for athletes it's hard to know who to blame, so let's just clean the whole house out and try again.

I hope you are joking....

But if you are not, it's the dumbest thing I have seen. Forget all the positives Turner is doing academically and for the campus. Let's fire a very well regarded man because he hasn't yet fixed a program that was an absolute mess when he got here...

I love football very very much. But I would never fire a President of SMU for football reasons...Especially given the way our program has been for 20 years now...
Not to fear LondonMustang...I am not in a position to fire anybody. But now that you mention it, "fire a very well regarded man because he hasn't yet fixed a program that was an absolute mess when he got here" Hell man, he has been here for at least 10 years...how much time does it take to clean up an absolute mess? Look at TCU. After they started fielding a very good football team their application rates went way up.

News flash...we are not Harvard nor are we likely to be any time soon. Stanford is an excellent example we should be following. High academic standards...way above SMU, yet they can field a winning football program. It's called marketing...it's how you let all those HS graduates across the country know you exist. Do I really want to fire Turner...no not really, but I do want him to be a hell of a lot more proactive in getting the athletic part of SMU where it belongs...after all, as President of the University, he is responsible for it all.

DMN reports that Romo has a sore back. If Romo goes down reason says that Phillips gets his turn. If he (Phillips) falls on his face then and only then does Willis come in. If this happens, Willis stays in the rest of the year.

Found the quote that talks about Romo's sore back. Funny, didn't see any of the rest of that stuff you said.

They said on the radio that his back was fine for the first time since it was injured in the TCU game.

Someone told me right before the game that I would listen to the whole game. I said, No I will just listen to bits and pieces here and there. I started cleaning out a cabinet, listening to the first quarter and ended up listening to the entire game. I got this sickness bad.
