WTF? WHERE WERE THE STUDENTS TODAY?
Moderators: PonyPride, SmooPower
I was at the game the entire time. All the way till the interception that doused us. No amount of students present at the game could have prevented that. No amount of alumni could have prevented that. No amount of support could have prevented that. We lost because we showed a lack of will to win and make stupid mistakes, crowd or no crowd, it's the team's loss, period.

When we start CONSISTANTLY winning games (more than 3 a year) I would expect a bigger turnout. Till then, I'll probably keep leaving after the band plays...
Yes, even the BLVD. looked more sparse than usual. I think a 6pm kickoff would have worked better today based on the other games...who knows.

Like most of us, students work during the week, and like to be entertained on the weekend. This football team loses like nobody's business, and is not entertaining. I don't blame the students for finding other stuff to do.
We are not UT, i.e., we do not generate an inherent game day excitement and entertaining experience, not do we have a chance to do something significant this year. See ya, CU! Hook 'em!

Even firey Mustang Band members like Couch 'em, Spaz, and myself have grown sick and tired of what's going on. It's one thing when you're obligated to be at the games, and you scream and cheer, but it's really hard to want to be at the game the entire time and scream and cheer the same way, especially if that team is sinking into the quicksand of mediocrity.
I started back in the band for the second game because they lost a drummer. I'm an alum and I really don't have to be there, but I love the school, the band, and even that crap called football. I've regretted my decision numerous times already.

Not to me, D-2 man. You adopted a football team other than your alma mater's to cheer for, albeit you were fool enough to adopt SMU. I'm just doing the same thing as you, adopting another school, but I choose a winner. Nothing wrong with that.

Game yesterday was very close, and entertaining. We just didn't win it.

Then why don't you go post on the Longhorn fan board instead since you don't care about SMU anymore?
I didn't 'adopt' SMU. I grew up with it. It's in my blood. Again, big difference. And it's a lot different than bailing on your team when things are rough, "jthorn".
