I think its great news that she is supporting the other bid, she always loses and has no clue. I dont care if she is Republican, Democrat, Independent or Martian, but I do think the moniker 'stupid [deleted]' fits her perfectly. I'm so sick of her crap I could puke.

actually, I'm wrong she doesnt always lose at all. She won by [deleted] off the Cowboys, UT/OU, and she tried to derail the Trinity deal early on. She's dangerous and sets the wrong tone for this city.

Laura's support of a small Irving based college is entire consistant with her support of the Ballpark and Jerryville in Arlington.

I would never support a strong mayor proposal if there was even the slightest chance she might get to be mayor under it. The damage she could do to this city in four years with almost total power just boggles the mind.

wow!!!

dallas has changed since i last lived there in the early 80's -

this wacko mayor's bio is here: http://www.lauramiller.com/html/biography.shtml

when i lived there, NO way this 'thing' could ever get elected -

i know dallas has been talking for decades about splitting up between north & south & i think the time has finally come!!!

suck in the egos & get on with life & make the city better -

i know the SFV tried to do here in los angeles but the idiots voted it down -

needless to say, its gotten worse in the valley ever since -

oh well -

life is such or however the frogs say it

from the DMN "Cheers & Jeers" section:

Dallas Mayor Laura Miller could have spared herself a little political grief had she thought about the fallout that would result from sending a letter of support for the University of Dallas over Southern Methodist University as the site of the future George W. Bush presidential library. The mayor says she would have done the same for SMU had she been asked and denied that this had anything to do with her political tussle with businessman Ray Hunt, who is backing the SMU proposal. A little forethought, please.

SMU should drop out because by the end of Bush's term, he will be so disgraced that no one will want to host his library.

Well...his library did wind up in Arkansas, but at least he found some place for it. So will Bush. I wouldn't be all that disappointed if it were not at SMU, except it would bring in lots of tourist...you know the ones I'm talking about...they show up in shorts and Hawaian shirts, socks and sandels, some goofy hat and a camera hanging from their neck. Sort of like Chevy Chase's cousin in Christmas Vacation.

Ahh, that brings back memories of where I went to grad school, William and Mary. W&M is located in Williamsburg, Virginia, a tourist haven. We were constantly having guys with VFW hats "Iowa" wander into classrooms and ask, "Is this a class?" Or toothless women in spandex asking, "Are you a student? Can I take your picture? Will you take our picture? If we get the Library, things will be a bit different.
