Thanks for the kind words. Realists don't usually get those around here.

So I understand. When I read the result, I was pleasantly surprised by the Mustangs' win.

PonySnob wrote:The only reason that I mention TCU is that while there program is a regular in the top 25, wins 10 games a year, and goes to bowl games, our program can't even have a more than one winning season in 16 years. If they can enjoy success with that miserable campus that they have, there is ZERO reason that SMU cannot do the same.
Obviously didn't see the game Saturday, you would've seen how much progress we have made since the TCU and A&M games.
TCU wasn't in a bowl game last season at all. This season..the only team they lost to so far is us. I don't see why we should frame ourself around TCU. TCU is. TCU that.
This is an SMU board. We're finally beginning to win and soon you won't have anything to complain about except your own Frogs.
Win cures all!! well read this..............

Coach & staff fired,
Despite going 35-14 and 2-3 in the playoffs the last 4 years, the Georgia Southern coach (and staff) were fired today. According to the AD, they had underperformed according to the plan.

Not to take anything away from the great win against UTEP / TCU / UAB and the Oh So Close losses (which we should have won) but will we have these expectations of our coaching staff should we reach the lofty hights of a going above 500.
Get ready for some football (next fall)

Thanks.

Click on the "bubble" that says quote in the upper right hand corner of the persons statement you want to cite. That will then take you to a reply box with the quote in it.

DBB, just making sure you are alive. Your boys shooting a half-court ball and all with 1.6 seconds left must have given you a heart attack.

PonySnob wrote:Given that the season was still a losing one, it is hard to say that "winning cures all". Where are the conference championships that Jim Copeland and Phil Bennett have said that we should be competing for? As has become the norm on the Hilltop, our football season is over while over in Fort Worth, they are preparing for another bowl game after another 10 win season......will SMU's fortune ever change?
Listen to WBAP 820 for their cruiser van on location promotions. You are
sure to get FREE tickets to the froggie bowl game. They might be end-
zone seats, but I'm sure you can move over to the fifty.

This clown PonySnob may be the guy called Deep Purple - who is a mid level employee of TCU working in the administration or admissions dept. Over ther years, he has been called out as an embarassment by the TCU fans on their own fan web site - hence he frequents ours.
