I don't know Spaz, I heard you were so drunk and crazy at the Baylor game that you went on a rampage into the BU section. According to police reports you beat up 4 old ladies and a dog with your trumpet, denting it in the process.

Wasn't that just because the dog didn't like peanut butter though?

I hear that the diplomas at TT are signed by the President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees with an X.[/code]

I thought Yosemite Sam signed the diplomas?

All very funny comments... but very old and clueless as well. Either way, the fury over one fan yelling "go team" at the stadium is not just insanity but hypocrisy. If there was video of every loud fan at every school in the country, it would pile up like cordwood. This just comes down to people's unnatural disdain for Texas Tech, and their lack of understanding of the school.

great clip no matter how much of an idiot that guy sounds like, i appreciate the devotion to his team. smu would only be so lucky to have fans who actually talked crap to the opposing teams... even better when its during interviews. im not saying the use of vulgar and obscene language is necessary, but SMU fans need to help out the players by getting in the heads of the opposing team. remember Bobby Knights comments after playing at smu?!! why can't our fans be rowdy at the football games

Here Here! The closest thing I ever saw to our fans being rowdy was the TCU game. We taunted the TCU students and players for the entire game and I took some deep satisfaction when some of THEIR fans started leaving the stadium early.

Apparently, being a rowdy and devoted student or fan just isn't cool. People (ie those that bother showing up) look at you funny or jest, as if you were being loud in a movie theatre. I mean it's a football game for god's sake, don't just sit there, DO SOMETHING!

Unfortunately, I fear that if anyone were to try and do something even remotely close to what this guy did - or if anyone tried to intimidate the opposing teams' players in some shape, form or fashion - that the SMU Security Force that staffs the games at Ford and Moody would eject them from the facilities and probably file some kind of charges against them.

But hell...I'm willing to give it a try! ;)

Some of my greatest memories of my college career was heckling the opposing team when we sat behind their bench. Now the athletic department decided to move the band in to that ridiculous end zone, 30 yards from the opposing team bench. We are trying to move the band back behind their bench. I love our new band director. In a meeting regarding this very subject, he was told that they did not want to move the band, because then they would be in the student section. His reply was genious, "What, my kids aren't students?"

It will help having hecklers right behind the opossing team bench, plus, they get to hear Peruna (at max volumn), over and over and over and over, etc. Plus, the students might start to understand what they are suppose to do at FB games.

at stadiums like tulsa... their students get creative with their "trash talking!" they actually research the upcoming opponents in the online rosters (ie. knowing the parents names, siblings, and other small facts about the player). this is devotion among the student body. this isnt your everyday drunk fan rambling off curse words in an incoherent state, these are fans who really can get under the players skin or atleast catch their attention.
a good friend of mine who punted at baylor a few years back was warming up in pregame at mich. on a rainy day and shanked a ball into the student section. the students proceeded to toss the ball all the way up and out of the stadium. to make matters worse they creatively chanted his name everytime he stepped on the field and heckled him the entire game (probably alittle more affective when you have 100,000+). needless to say it wasn't his best day of punting

We need to have SOMEONE in the student section! Thank God for the Mustang Band!
