We shot 33% and got outrebounded 41-21. I should have gone more play-by-play towards the end but was too into the game. Sorry Hixson. And Journalism is a major I may consider in a few years.

Are you so cheap you can't pop 39 bucks for a year of All Access? The internet radio is free, you know...

That's very uncool and uncalled for. The guys played their tails off tonight, especially on the defensive end. Absolutely no reason for a dig at Coach Burns. You should have been at the game cheering.

Nice to keep it close but - OU is overrated. Should have taken this from them.

Hopkins seems very out of it to me. Seems out of sync - maybe it's just me - I am not sure if it's b/c he's not playing the point or what. Just doesn't seem as active since he's been back compared to last year.

I see Roberts trying to do some nice things but he seems more hesitant than last year. Take it to the hole..I think he can be better but not sure what is holding him back.

Pearson - what the hell man? What is up? He needs to step it up - not sure what has happened to him either.

If SMU could make it a layup they might have actually won the game. I counted about 5 or 6 misses at least...completely ridiculous. Coach, please run a fast break clinic tomorrow.

Spoken in jest, it was. I agree with you on the defensive play...and I should hope they'd play their tails off vs. OU, which they did. The Burns analogy was because of my frustration at missed lay-ups, which was not unlike the frustration endured, say, a few times during the FB season. Oh, and you're right...I should've been there cheering, but it's a stretch to take a midweek flight up and back for the evening. When I'm at the SMU-UTPA game over in Edinburg, should I expect to see you there cheering?

All that having been said, my apologies to those I offended with the Burns joke. My fault for forgetting that everything posted on this board is always literal and without sarcasm or humor.

The issue of missing layups is not a new one....I remember Killen actually tossing up an airball on an open fast-break layup earlier this season. That's humiliating. I seriously hope coach works on this layup fiasco.

There was some decent post play given our relative size (at least at times). It was good to see Dez showing some leadership and sinking some shots. But I agree with everyone else--what's the deal with Roberts and Pearson? They were looking pretty good by the end of the season last year--just seems like they're all scared to do anything. Morris doesn't seem to be nearly as effective when he's outsized, but I still think he's getting better every game....He doesn't seem to get worn out quite as easily.

Again, teams are going to man up on Hopkins and dare the other four players to beat them in a zone. We need to step up the interior game and make teams pay. Until we start punishing teams for overplaying Hop we're going to see ugly games like this one.

I was encouraged by the fact that seemingly the whole team (except Willingham) is in a major shooting slump, and we still hung with OU. Hopkins apparently got two games' worth of threes in the Frog game. He was talking after the game about how the ball "just wouldn't go in." I haven't talked to them, but Pearson and Roberts have seemed the same way lately. Especially against TCU, Pearson had some good looks. As for last night, I was impressed that, even though his shot wasn't falling, Roberts had a huge BACKHANDED blocked shot, and also tried to go over OU folks to follow other Mustangs' shots. There was one, in particular, where he went over two guys, and just missed what would have been a huge follow-up slam. If he'd hit that, it might have given the whole team a jolt of energy.

Roberts plays good defense, but he just hasnt seemed comfortable on offense at all. Same with Pearson. Both these guys were playing better last year, especially Pearson who was starting to be a scorer last year.
