So far, the opposing CUSA fans have not really even brought an abundance of fans for a Saturday game (except for UTEP). Hard to see any CUSA schools brining thousands of fans to an away game in Dallas.
The problem is there aren't very many 'real' SMU fans, so no one is going to care about the game the previous night, and no one is going to make special sacrifices to go to a wednesday night game, especially not if there is something inside where it won't be cold and rainy on those rare occasions. This is a bad idea, and it does nothing to help sell our program to the metroplex. We have to think about the casual fan, and getting them to become diehard fans before we can even consider the possibility of playing a weekday televised game and not looking foolish because no one is in the stands. We need to be going into the burbs and neighborhoods of Dallas and just tossing out tickets, we need to be doing more to get name exposure outside of HP, if we really want to be successful, alienating potential fans by making them choose between an SMU football game and their kids or work just isn't a smart move.
Anyway, it doesn't matter because as far as I know, no one has asked us to do this yet.
