If there is a something negative on SMU, the DMN will cover it.

Small article in the DMN today, along with something to do with a possible NCAA rules violation in basketball. What is that about?

Small article on page 6 of DMN under headline, "SMU looking into allegation" Under this in smaller letters "top rusher arrested"

Jest of article is that SMU has ongoing internal investigation into allegation. As to arrest, Martin was arrested on Greenville Ave (not even close to Deep Ellum) with three others with a charge of public intoxication and resisting arrest or resisting search or transport. Posted a $500 bond and was released. Bennett said he would deal with the situation internally. Article did not say where on Greenville Ave.

I hope DM likes running up and down stadium steps till he barfs and then until he barfs again. I suspect that might be how Bennett will deal with the situation, at least that's how I would deal with the situation.

Fights will happen. We have to remember while these guys are athletes, they are still young college kids. And not to make excuses but a guy like Demyron who has had success can sometimes have a target on him by jealous type ex highschool heros that are pissed they aren't in his shoes. Success, even for just 1 season so far, comes with that price. He may have just been defending himself. Not a big deal at all. With that said, of course we would prefer in a perfect world for our starting tailback to not be in the situation at all.

There is a double-standard here.

If this had been UT's star running back, this board would have been all over the kid.

Not true SoCal. We would have just exagerated the story into saying there are rumors the UT RB was also carrying a firearm and found with narcotics.

We don't have a pattern like UT though.

Other than speculation on this board, where do you come up with a fight? The only public report has him and three others being arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest. No mention of a fight, an assualt or anything along that line. Other than that the kid should not have been out getting polluted in a public venue since he is still a minor, lets not make a mountain out of a mole hill here.

well at least we are getting those "tougher" players Dement was talking about. He probably beat somebodies' [deleted] for making fun of SMU's Football Team.

Or maybe he had too much to drink and thought he was an Oklahoma running back.

What about the fact that if he was breaking the law with regards to being intoxicated? I thought the drinking age was 21? Phil certainly needs to make an example out of Demyron to let the team know that this kind of behavior that further embarasses the program and school, will not be tolerated.
