The game was also on the NFL Network, replays again today I think.

Were you there? It was easily 40k. The entire west side as full as well as most of the east side. Leaving it felt like leaving a game. There was definitely around 40k.

I don't know why everyone is being so weird about this. UT is the only game in town in Austin...they just won the BCS "National" championship. Why wouldn't they have 40,000 there? What would be news worthy is if they only had a few thousand there. This thread has no real purpose.

Aggies had 40,000+ in Fran's first year. Nebraska has come close to filling their stadium (if they haven't actually done it) for the spring game before.

This is like many things on this board lately where I am trying to figure out why I should get worked up over this one way or the other.

PK's right, nothing surprising about UT's spring game numbers. With our D-2 schedule in place I wonder if SMU will get to 40,000 for the year.

JT. Since we both play Sam Houston State, why would you call us D-2? I bet they have 80.000 and we have 15,000. Isn't that a function of alumni size and school enrollment rather than opponent quality. They also play Rice and have in the recent past played North Texas, and always play Tech, so what is your point exactly?
