Again, for instance, Baylor, Big XII, sells more athletic merchandise [online], believe it or not, than Texas Tech and Oklahoma State.

There is simply no possible way that this is even close to being true.

I would bet that Tech sells 4 or 5 times as much merchandise as Baylor, and I would bet that OSU sells 2 or 3 times the amount of merch that Baylor does... in TEXAS.

Frogie, Frogie, if your TCU team didn't hop from conference to conference like they do and pick bad conferences when they do move, I would say that what I just posted has no chance in H-E-double-hockey-sticks of happening. TCU made a very good decision, as did several other institutions, to leave C-USA while we still could . . . you'll see why I say this in a few years. I see your reasoning, however.

We aligned ourselves with some large western state schools, which given the departure of Louisville, Cincy, et al. makes it a smart move. When Congress starts in again on the BCS monopoly, we have New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, and Wyoming working in our favor. Also, according to the Sagrin ratings, http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/fbc05.htm we had a better conference last year

I will miss Southern Miss though, and you guys will always be there. Except for this year, We offered you our 12th game this year, and were brutally rebuffed. Best way to keep the skillet an extra year though...

In a few years, deepellumfrog, who until now has been a more enlightened Frog poster, is going to tell us how the move back to the WAC was a good idea because it "aligned them with some large western state schoosl, which given the departure of BYU makes it a smart move. When Congress starts in again on the BCS monopoly, we have Nevada, San Diego State, Boise State, and Hawaii working in our favor." He will then cite a ratings system that is irrelevant and highly questionable (Sagarin is terrible) to support his statement.

And by the way, Deepellumfrog, Nevada is in the WAC, not the MWC.

I have not the slightest foresight--however, if you're asking for a wild guess: eventually the Mountain West? I do believe SMU is recovering from the Death Penalty, however that being said, this is not SMU's year . . . just my opinion.

You are right, of course, and I appreciate the enlightened poster comment. I was speaking of the state of Nevada of course, and the true flagship university, UNLV. I mean , one of the finest hospitalitity management schools in the nation
