I don't want to set myself up for a fall either. Realistically, we shouldn't beat Tech....I'd feel better if we were playing it in Dallas. I shudder at what could happen to our secondary. I just want no repeat of A&M last year.

Still, this is why they play the game. I'm still excited as hell for a new season!

Thank you for the clarification.

Coincidence?

RGV.. I hate to say this because that point was pretty funny.. But Harrell is much more talented than Tate could ever be. I like tate very much, I was in school w/ him.. but there is quite a bit difference in talent level..

Stallion wrote:Graham was so spooked by Division 1A football last year that he was 37 for 55 for a 68% passing completion percentage and threw for 422 yards 3TDs and no interceptions. 149 Passing Rating all as a Freshman. He's playing at home with perhaps the best and deepest WR corp in the country. Both WRs are First Team Preseason All-Big 12. Graham is one of the Top 5 QBs in United States High School History in just about every statistical category-he'll be just fine.

those stats are in complete mop up duty and we all know leach.. he will try to kick you when you are down. Until I see what Harrell can do as the starter in atleast half a season, those stats mean absolutely nothing..

What happens when a guy drops a sure TD pass? and then the next play Rodgers puts a paw up and pops a pass up in the air and we INT it.. Harrell is super talented but also a super hothead.. And the last time we gave tech a game as in 2002.. Heisman canidate Kingsbury stats were
32-49 369yds 65% and 3 TDs 2 INTs..

tech qb's will put numbers up no matter what, that is there offense.. but if we keep those #'s to what Harrell has "amazingly" done before.. i firmly believe we have a chance b/c last time we were completely one dimensional and now we can throw and pass...

Harrell will make mistakes this is not Texas High School football..

When was the last time we had a QB go into the game for "mop up" duty?

don't mean to be a jerk.. but how in the world did you think i was talking about us in that statement.. i was responding to stallions stats on harrell, i mentioned harrell and mentioned how leach likes to run up the score.. i never even mentioned our qb and mop up duty..

Clearly the Harrell/Wallis comparison isn't valid. But Chris Sanders and Kelan Luker put up sensational numbers in high school, too. I have no doubt that Harrell is extremely talented. I have a friend who lives out there (poor guy) who follows Tech closely, and he says the general concensus is that Harrell will be the best QB The Leach has ever had. Hopefully Harrell starts to prove that in Game 2.

"He's a new quarterback with little experience." Funny that's what we heard about Symons last time the game was at tech.

I'm not getting my hopes up. We are going to lose, probably by multiple TDs. If we fare better, then great! Let's just hope we don't get anyone hurt in the process and ruin our chances for the rest of the season.

The Bowl Game does not rest on a win at tech.

Hippie Hollow has changed over the years. It is now a place for people fo the same sex to have fun - not that there is anything wrong with that.

Well I have never heard of Hippie Hollow. I'm not kidding. I thought you were making some sort of snide anit-Austin comment. And then smupony94 jumps in with a clarification. I don't know if I should be offeneded... again... not that there's anything wrong with that.

Hippie Hollow is a beach on Lake Travis where clothes are optional. Used to be a great place to take your boat by. Now you want to poke your eyes out after you seach the beached whales that frequent the place.

Eww. Will avoid like the plague. Beached whales are not my idea of a good time.

On the other hand, I did catch a topless chick at Barton Springs. Even better, she was hot, so it made my day. Gotta' love Austin... Also, we had thankfully picked a spot right next to the water - one of the ladders coming out of the springs, so I had a semi-nice view all day. Every time a particularly attractive chick pulled herself out of the water I had visions of Phoebe Cates in Fast Times at Ridgemont High... fortunately for me, those visions didn't extend far enough to a Judge Reinhold incident in the bathroom. Maybe I should look into finding a girlfriend... that was a particularly depressing review of the high points of my weekend.

Barton Springs is by far the place to see the ladies. Just don't change in the men's restroom. Ha, Thad we hijacked the thread.

The scenery at Barton Springs was nice this weekend. You gotta love the fact that it's not illegal for women to be topless in Austin. Gawd bless Austin.

Agreed LF68, but if it wasn't for your hawk eyes I might have missed miss topless. Thank you. And, if I recall correctly you were sans glasses - and you're the one with a fiance - I should be the one focused on the babes at all times. Yes, and god bless the city ordinace leaglizing toplessness.

Indeed my good man! Hey, you up for getting together for the Tech game? That is assuming you will not be traveling to the game? I'm thinking about putting together a little viewing party.... actually a viewing party is already forming.
