SMU comes out pissed, and sticks it to the nay-saying fans by shutting down Sam Houston State.

With the new clock rules, a defense will not wear down as much. Much fewer offensive plays for each team.

My prediction is, if we lose this one......Orsini won't allow Bennett in the locker room. GET YOUR S/// AND GET OUT!!!!

SMU will get a running game going, but still no passing. SHSU will take advantage of our secondary.

8 seconds left. Score tied at goose eggs. Third and goal from the 17 (penalties) - Duke Hasson finds Chris Phillips in the endzone.

Five *actual* minutes later - Final:

SHSU 8
SMU 6

The Mustang touchdown came with the clock reading seconds. Extra point blocked and returned all the way for 2 points. Ensuing kickoff returned for a touchdown. Time has expired - SHSU takes a knee on the conversion attempt.

Combining this and the Attendance thread and doing some quick math, the general consensus is:

Bearkat 17
Pony 11

Attendance: 4,701 (and falling)

Actually they don't even attempt the conversion if they lead and the clock is at 0.

That's funny. That's like the score of the Cumberland v Ga. Tech game in 1916.

They have to if it is within 2 points due to the possibility of a block and return. If you recall we had to run a conversion after the last second pass at UAB. Any coach that would actually kick and not just take a knee should be hung and then fired.

I am not sure how we will score, but we have double our scoring each week so far. Therefore we should have 12 this week.
