If this message board existed in 1980-81-82, we could dig up something similar about playing to empty seats in Texas Stadium with a legitimate top 10 program

the majority of SMU students and alumni just don't care and probably never will. Need to move forward and hope a higher percentage of SMU students and alumni going forward will want for SMU what our sister school to the west has accomplished, or what our former green & gold conference mate to the south has built. No sense comparing SMU to the larger public schools with large rabid fan bases. We may never have that, but we should be able to compete favorably against similar private schools in Texas and the southwest.

I'm thankful for Ford Stadium and I do remember how hot is was that day

As nice as it is to know that any time I get an opportunity to visit Dallas I can always get a good seat at Ford, I look forward to the day that is no longer the case
