1988-Mojor infractions by UofH Football program for paying players-postseason ban, probation, scholarship reductions.
Too cumbersome to actually include the report here.
Speaking of stepping in it...
Funny you should point that out. Did you know?
UH was limited to only 70 scholarship players the year we beat the ever loving crapola of your kids. Because of this...
UH had only two roster QB! Ware did not play in the 2nd half. Thats why Klingler played all the 2nd.
2nd & 3rd stringer were playing in the 2nd quarter. Due to the scholarship limits we didn't have 5th stringers to put in by the 4th quarter.
UH had only two roster RBs. Thats one of the reasons UH didn't run very much. THE OTHER was that Chuck SPOOOON Weatherspoon had 15 carries for 207 yards already. What...you wanted him to run some more? Pfft...glutton for punishment I guess. He was running over your guys left & right. Better we put the ball in the hands of a buck 50 receiver than a human bowling ball don't your think? I think we were being damn nice by throwing.
UH had the ball for the final 2:52...and took a knee inside your 20yd line. Just be thankful we didn't put triple digits on the board in addition to the 1K yards gained.
FYI, the 1988 penalties were for infractions that took place before Jenkins arrived at UH as part of Jack Pardee's staff. You can pin that on UH but not on Jugular. Sucked hard for the players & staff...paying the price for things they had no involvement in.
