How about they can the pistol formation. Nothing good ever comes of it. They sure as hell can't run out of it.

more pass less run.............

if the running game can open a teams passing game, why can't a passing game open up the running game?

I was actually surprised how much time willis was getting back there.

SMU called about 50 passing plays last Saturday-how many more is it going to take to open it up?

wish we would have done 50 pass plays.....
Passing- 36 attempts for 299 yards averaging 8.3 yards
Rushing- (not including Willis) 19 attempts for 28 yards averaging 1.5 yards

Might not open it up, but couldn't hurt.....

Well that was 36 passing attempts. Plus Willis was sacked 6 times. Plus prolly another 6 plays were pass plays in which Willis scrambled, which were intended to be passes. Meaning we CALLED almost 50 pass plays as Stallion said. We only ended up attempting 36 actual passes from those 48-50 pass play calls though.

True. Good Point.
He did sit back there to much, not sure if he had all day b/c their d-line was not that good or if they didn't blitz b/c they were scared of the mobile qb
cuz they got burned by one earlier on in the season.

Willis is #66 (233) when it comes to attempts. #1 is obviously Tech with 518 attempts. #4 Baylor with 383 (but Bell got hurt).

The point should be that they can't even get a half yard running the ball when the game is hanging in the balance. We have consistently lost yardage all season when we ran on third and forth and short.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

That's what the power I, T, and wishobone formations were invented for.
See last few minutes of SMU UCONN in 89 with Rossley as OC when we
were run n shoot.

Trying to get that running on the spread with a red shirt freshman QB is
assinine.

Whoever is calling this stuff on short yardage needs to CHANGE it, or be
PFIRED. Be it Burns, or possibly HasBennett.
