Actually, Wes Welker is listed as a running back, although he's more of a receiving and return threat than he is running the ball. The 5-9, 185-pound Welker will be a senior in 2003-04.

As a junior, Welker rushed the ball 31 times for 250 yards. He also caught 86 passes for 1,054 yards and 7 touchdowns, averaging 75.3 receiving yards per game. And he returned 53 punts for 752 yards (13.2 yards per return) and 3 touchdowns. His 60 points were the third-highest point total on the Tech team in 2002.

Lefty: Thanks for the stats. Sorry I messed up on Welker's position. However, I remember watching him in a couple of televised games last year and he was a threat. And I think he'll be even more of a threat this year. He and Kingsbury combined on several occasions for impressive drives and scores. Don't discount the Welker threat even though Kingsbury is gone.

If we can get by away games vs. Tech and Baylor our home schedule really favors us as long as we have the fan support.
