Mine was not a prediction either way. And ignore it if you want to but you called anything less than a winning season "failure"--we already see how it's worked out for you. In your mind SMU has failed every year since the death penalty but 1997.

Saying that it's "inevitable" we won't have back to back winning seasons isn't a prediction? Sounds like a strong prediction to me. And if we're going to follow your lead when it comes to holding others' feet to the fire on their predictions, we need to hold you to the same standard.

I don't recall having made any predictions at all about the 2006 season, and especially don't recall using the word "failure" in that context. Could you please point me to the post? Thanks in advance.
You can read what you posted, I don't need to point out anything to a disloyal person like you. You can't have it both ways, sunshine, anything less than a winning record is failure to you. You are on the record.
What does it really matter, ponyboy? After all, you know my "prediction" as you incorrectly call it will be wrong. Your sunshine buddy has guaranteed two consecutive winning seasons coming up, so all is rosy on the Hilltop.
I'm sorry to butt in. As you can tell, I'm a Rice fan. But, I was rooting hard for ECU to lose so you guys would get a look for a bowl game b/c after the way y'all played down here against us, I felt like you deserved it. However, how can you keep a cry baby like this guy as your coach?
Cut and pasted from articles after our game:
"If 81 would have gotten hurt instead of me," he asked, referring to a player who scored three touchdowns in Rice's 31-27 win, "who'd have won that game?"
Bennett also said SMU's rebuilding process is very different from that of Rice, where Todd Graham has led the Owls to their first bowl game in 45 years in just his first season as head coach.
"Four years ago they were 8 and 4, when was the last time SMU has been 8 and 4?" Bennett said. "They have 11 All-American receivers. When I got here I had to move a backup tight end to starting quarterback. They have a quarterback that threw 25 touchdown passes. They've had [academic] exemptions forever. SMU never had exemptions."

interesting.. do you have a link to this "article?"
The second quote is from an SMU Football Blog. Search in the sight for "They have 11 All-American Recevers" http://smufootballblog.blogspot.com/
ok what i was really getting to (oh and by the way thank you for posting your sources...) Pb by no means is a "cry baby"... as somebody who knows him personally he demands nothing but the best from his players... like many others on this board i was happy to see rice make a bowl game after such a huge drought, although it was at the expense of our beloved mustangs... here's somethings about PB you should know before claiming he is a "cry baby"
He covers for his players and takes the blame
over the last 5 years players have made HUGE mistakes but he has continually taken it on the chin for his players and never once to my knowledge blamed a player for any loss during these 5 years... as a former player under PB, he chewed our @$$es in the lockerroom and then would go before the media and put the blame on himself... even when he prepared us perfectly and we just didnt perform. he's right about some of the things he as a coach and SMU as a community has had to deal with to put a decent team on the field.
Well, that is good to hear. Because reading this made me wonder why he was still your coach. Somebody just needs to teach him to keep his emotions out of the media because that just makes you guys look bad. A definite twinge of sore loser from those quotes.
Once again, you guys played one hell of a game against us and I wish you guys well for the future.
