I think he's regarded as a good coach, though. Hopefully he'll land on his feet quickly.
I agree with everything you say. He easily could have quit last year, gone for another job, but he stayed there with those kids and got them to play hard (including, of course, in their win at SMU .... dammit). He deserved MUCH better than this.

Given Scelfo's effort last year to keep the program intact, Tulane's actions of throwing him under the bus makes no sense.
It leads me to believe that this is the 1st stage of downgrading Tulane's athletic program-- eliminating FB, focusing on the baseball, hoops & other sports.
TU has a long way to go to fully recover from Katrina.
