Re: Today's Srimmage
Obviously ya'll know where I stand, but uh, speaking of doing it in games, did any of you go to the La Tech game last year? That was last year in his first start, and I'd say he's improved since then so I wouldn't worry if I was ya'll. It's gonna be a whole lot better this time around.....
Re: Today's Srimmage
Yes, we were at the LaTech game. Yes, your boy was terrific. Yes, we're all pulling for him and hoping he breaks every record out there.
LaTech also was just one game.
He wasn't bad the rest of the year, but it was evident he's still learning. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. He has all the tools in the world except pure speed, but he's got enough in the speed department to survive, if not run away from people.
Go Bartel, Go Bennett, Go Ponies

I think Ryan Kennedy is going to be a stud. He looks to have it all.

He is a big ole cuss. I also like the way Hrnicr played in the scrimmage. Who knows? This offense could be pretty salty next year if we can develop some consistency in the offensive line.

On the La Tech game:
Bartel looked absolutely AMAZING. Part of that was his athletic ability, I don't argue that. But what really impressed me was the offensive play calling. Edmonson had an incredible plan going into that game! I just don't understand why he put away the playbook at Rice the next weekend. I think his motto at Rice was to run the same play till they got it right.
Here's hoping to opening up the playbook next year!

Re: Today's Srimmage
All the talk this spring has been that we're going to really open up the offense next year, using more 3-WR and 4-WR sets. If that's the case, Coach Edmondson will have many options at his disposal. Hopefully he'll call a game like he did against LaTech. That was by far the most creative offense we saw all year.
