Robinson has to be hurt. That time makes no sense.
Other notable results...from same school as Justin Smart & Mario Walker, (and Phil & Jerry Bennett).
All Sophomores/Jrs now.
Men's 100 Finalist
Name Year School Prelims Wind H#
5 Jones, Darius Marshall 10.99 0.2 2
Men's 200 Finalist
7 Franklin, Aaron Marshall 22.26 2.4
Men's 300 Hurdle Finalist
7 Wilson, Anthony Marshall 41.09
I think this next year's team will be fast. SMU should recruit at least Jones. He supposedly is a good student, and he does not get into trouble. His mother, I believe, works for the school district, and she has her thumb firmly planted on his head.
Another note, one of MISDs administrators is Richard Fluker, who ran track for SMU back in the 1960s or 70s. He has joined with a group of alumni pressing Orsini for reinstatement of track and field programs. It is supposed to be about money, so we shall see if anybody steps up. Evidently, the faculty are sensitive when donors allocate money to athletics instead of academics. That's predictable, but it is interesting to hear someone else pipe up about it.
