Ewing, relative to other NBA players, is actually pretty bright. He was President of the Union for a time. But, then again, that is like being the tallest midget.
And yes, he ran the union during the strike- you know, when David Stern laughed maniacally while grinding the NBA Players Association into dust.

[quote="PonyDoh"]and now you know a little more about SMU recruit, Bennie Rhodes. MT Zion is on the watch list, subject to be reviewed, as a basketball factory. Its barely accredited. I truly have a hard time believing Doh got Rhodes through admissions.

If you are as familiar with Mt. Zion as you seem to be, you should already know the answer to that question. Mt. Zion will SELL you a transcript, and if the first one isnt good enough to get in, for a few dollars more they'll sell you a second transcript that's a little better.
I've said before, Mt. Zion is amongst the dirtiest out there, and not just in regards to academics. It's a place I'd prefer not to touch with a 10-foot pole.
And I should mention that a Verbal Commitment doesnt mean neccessarily that a kid is through admissions yet. He has until the end of the summer to get a qualifying SAT score.

Try not to choke on the Kool-Aid.
Don't you just love America. A kid can go to Sylvan Learning Center and get the help he needs for a price. He then goes back to school and his grades improve. Or he goes to BS Prep and gets his grades laundered and then takes the SAT's and gets like a 440 for making the law of averages. Then he goes to a Division I school and flunks out after the first year, and signs an NBA contract or a Euro Contract or works at Taco Bell.
He definitely does. I'm just glad the profs stay away from this site. Unfortunately, a few of them do read the NY Times. Luckily, they stay away from the sports pages and instead read articles that are more "meaty". I'm sure though our faculty athletic rep, knows all about grade washing and has relayed that information on to the Senate.

speaking of grade washing-does anybody know whether God's Academy out of Arlington-which was mentioned in New York Times and DMN articles about joke Prep Schools ever got certified by the NCAA. God's Academy also known as TCU JC has 3 players who have committed to play for TCU. If this school is accredited we will know that the NCAA really has no intention of really certifying legitimate prep schools.
