What specific plans did Sweet put into motion? Are there plans for any billboards, radio spots, or tv commercials promoting the team? I have yet to see anything promoting the team.

yeah, it's a headscratcher. But who knows what SWA offered him, maybe a much better position than he had with a 50k raise, we don't know??? I won't pass judgement, but from all accounts, he did a great job while he was here

from the S.M.U. blog on the DMN by Kate Hairopolous:

I asked Sweet if he was worried about the perception that maybe he was leaving SMU, where attendance and budget problems have plagued the athletic department for some time, because the job of raising the athletic teams' profiles was just too tough.

"Once they see what's happening, I won't worry about that anymore," Sweet responded.

About this campaign, by the way, SMU is being a bit secretive. The school worked with The Richards Group on the creative side and we should start to see the beginnings of it leaking out around mid-August.

I've got to agree with Ford to Tolbert - this is a total chicken [deleted] move on Sweet's part. You leave a job after 9 months to hop back in bed with the one you just left? That is about as much commitment as Copeland's "Commitment."

Makes me wonder if his plan all along was to use a job at another employer as leverage to get SW to throw a bucket of money at him and he would come back. Well, it worked.

Thank God I don't fly SWA.

My last words to Sweet are a quote from Uncle Junior - "go [deleted] in your hat"
