Actually a uni change might help. We should have our defense where the opposing team's jerseys in hopes that the the opposing team will become confused and either a)run in to us or b)pass to us.

Couldn't agree more on the stripes, and SOMEBODY needs to be appointed as the keeper of all things holy at SMU. Bennent "fixed" something that wasn't broke instead of fixing what he was hired to fix.
Tweak the unis all you want, but only schools that have NEVER had a good looking helmet, or NEVER had any tradition touch thier helmets.
I may be incorrect but wasn't Bennett/Copeland working on a mandate to change our school colors? It seems that we had this burning desire to look just like Ole Miss. So the school changed to a super ugly red and blue. Given that, Bennett and Copeland came up with a uniform to please Turner and look as close to Ole Miss as possible. I do believe Bennett rejected the decal on the Helmet that replaced the running pony with a pony in a southern gentleman's suit and leaning on a cane with the words "Ole SMU" printed above Colonel Pony.

You are 100% correct. Before we tried to look like Ole Miss, we tried to look like Arizona. And then Arizona decided they didn't even like those stripes and a white helmet.
The stripes belong CLOSE TOGETHER with no space between them.

I want to first say this is not meant with any disrespect to any current or former SMU players and am not trying to take a shot at any SMU athletes. SMU football has been plain bad during the Bennett regime. This could be attributed to poor performance by talented players, not enough talent to compete, poor coaching, or any a number of things. But the bottom line is for the past lot of years (and before Bennett too) we have sucked. So how can you endorse Bennett because you respect him. Does that mean you think he is a good coach? If so, do you then think he was/is working with subpar players? If so, do you think it is his fault we have subpar talent? I am not trying to attack, rather I am genuinely interested in hearing the logic behind your standing behind him. You can no longer throw out your #1 arguement of "PB needs to have all his own guys" He's had his own guys. So what is it????
