And have just as good of shot of winning C-USA as at the beginning of the season.

You guys need to wake up!

To what? The fact that we outplayed a better TCU team? The fact that our defense didn't allow a record setting offensive production?

The days of accepting moral victories are long gone my friend. That's why I refuse to go to anymore games until Bennett is gone.

I agree that I would have been happy if we would have been 2-2, but I think the way we have played is the biggest issue. Tonight was our best defensive effort and DeMyron finally got the ball. However, all of the missed opportunities still leads me to believe we just can't execute. And...failed execution is simply poor preparation. This team is being undercoached. If we were doing our best out there and still losing, I would be content. We saw the effort in the mid-90's but now we are seeing a totally different problem. We have better players but the coaching staff is an issue.

I am not a football expert, have never played, so really cannot have forgotten that much, but my observations would be...

1. Run the ball to keep the defense off of the field...WE FINALLY DID THAT
2. Simplfiy the passing game. What is JW's completion %? Is the passing game a matter of coverage, poorly run patterns, dropped balls, bad passes, or poor plays? Target the problem and coach it.

I dont know...I really dont know what I am talking about so I will just shut up.

Props to the D. Much better. Offense took a dump.

I agree.

I thought that the offense was supposed to be our strength this year. Obviously it is not. The OL is probably part of the problem. However, Willis' inexperience is also showing. He will get better with time. Next year I would expect it all to come together for him. He is, by far, the best QB, we have had during Bennett's tenure and maybe the best post death penalty. However, his supporting cast is also better than previous SMU QB's post DP.

Kenard Burley was roasted on every play. That guy does not have the quickness to be a tackle

WAKE UP!

What is wrong with so many of you on this board? Good Coaches win those types of games. All this, "We'll get 'em next time" is like hearing a bunch of liberals talk and it makes me want to slam my head into a wall.

Ok, then here is the question.....

Can JW become better under PB and Rusty? Does he look ANY better this year than last?

When I check the 2 deep roster and think about next year I shiver. Can we trade for some jr/sr LB's?

We need JUCO's in a bad way. We need to thug it up.

IMO he was not helped by Willis dropping back to far to give Ortiz a free shot. Willis needs to learn how to step up into the pocket after moving back. But yes, bow legged Kenard did have some problems. Someone else said on another thread that Ortiz is expected to be a 1st day selection in the NFL draft so his talent has some bearing also.

Live by the JUCO, die by the JUCO. That's a quick fix.

It is unbelievable as to how blind some of these guys are. I guess losing for such an extended period of time :x dulls the senses.

I don't know... you seem to know more than you think.

Look at the Board for the past 3 weeks. What have we screamed about?

"Give Martin the Ball, don't abandon the Running game!"

"We have an Uber TE named Chase, GET HIM THE DAMN BALL"

"The Defense HAS to step up!"

Tonight those three things were addressed and we still lost by 14.

It's impossible not to lay this one at the coaches feet in my opinion. I'm not going to deny that. I hate that the talent is out there and being wasted, but nothing is going to change this season and I can't bring myself to root for failure. If I ever got to that point, I'd just go bandwagoning for a while.
