UT: Students do drugs

Texas Football Team: Lowest Grad Rate in Big 12 (pathetic!)
High # of Recent Arrests (disgraceful)
BTW....there are teams that have grad rates
and no shameful arrest record that
WIN too!
So it's not an "either/ or".
Your equation does not work.
Your Honor I have no further questions for this witness.
NEXT?

And yet UT is still ranked ahead of SMU both athletically and academically. But I guess you can lean on that graduation rate thing you love so much.

Here's the link to a Daily Campus article in today's paper talking about how Police Chief Shafer discussed the drug and alcohol situation on campus with the Student Senate.

On Campus incidents?? That is certainly not the same as real police arrests. All they have to do is sit at the garage and parking lot on Friday and Saturday nights and I am sure they could give out 25+ tickets a night.

Hello?
This is a sports message board.
And this is the football section.
And Texas is not ranked ahead of SMU academically,
graduation rates, or arrests for the football teams.
In fact it is not even close!
But nice try.

Exactly, so why aren't we talking about won-loss records instead of grad rates?

re: Exactly, so why aren't we talking about won-loss records instead of grad rates?
i did not start this thread....ASK Stallion!
In fact Stallion isn't even posting about an issue relating to sports,
he is trying to change the subject to non-sports related issues that
are not even written about the teams. another lame attempt to
brush off the shameful recent Texas Longhorn arrests and criminal
activities.
and we do speak about football issues like won-loss records/ect... probably about 95% of the time.
but graduation rates and how certain football teams/coaches conduct themselves are also part of college football. obviously newspapers and media outlets agree because they discuss and report about grad rates and criminal behaviors concerning college football teams.
college football players are students attending class, so it is part of the equation, the NCAA publishes graduation rates for football players, the NCAA views football graduation rates as relevant, the Coaches Association ranks and makes a big deal about graduation rates.
if it's not part of college football why do players have to maintain a class schedule and even be enrolled in the school?
i know you would prefer to not EVER discuss or see reports about issues where your other team Thug U. in Austin fails miserably. UT is unlike many other schools that have success on the field as well as in the classroom and don't have arrest after arrest after arrest after arrest with [deleted] poor graduation rates.
sorry if like Stallion says "it's on the front page off the Dallas Morning News" and all over the media/internet....people are at times going to discuss that aspect of college football.

I could go on, but I won't. I challenge you to find a school at SMU ranked ahead of one at Texas. I couldn't find one.
But again, at least you have that graduation rate thing you seem to hold so closely to your chest.
Talk as much [deleted] about the football all you want (at this point they deserve it). But please, leave the academic smack out of the equation because it just makes you look foolish.

If you were on trial for being a Mustang fan, would there
be enough evidence to convict you???
Change your name to steer and move to Austin, with
fans like you who needs enemys???

Hey I can rationally look at an issue and come up with a reasonable response which is rooted in reality. UT across the board is a better university than SMU in almost every aspect of the school.

re: "And Texas is not ranked ahead of SMU academically"
"O rly?"
yes really!
smack? foolish?....why is that?.....i am correct.
as i previously stated SMU is grading out higher
than UT academically for the football teams.
btw 68....very nice misquote.....nothing like leaving
out about half the sentence......lol
Here is the full quote that you only posted partially:
"And Texas is not ranked ahead of SMU academically,
graduation rates, or arrests for the football teams.
And just like I stated.....Texas is not ranked ahead of
SMU academically FOR THE FOOTBALL TEAMS.
In fact their graduation rates are not even close!
Texas is dead last even in the Big 12 grad rates!
DEAD LAST in grad rates and probably
#1 in Big 12 arrest rates over the last year!
Aren't you proud?
Again....hello? Stallion? 68? Anybody home?
This is a sports message board.
This is the football section of the sports message board.
My quote said "for the football teams".
There may be message boards out in cyberspace
that compare schools academics not relating to
their football teams, not relating to the schools
athletics that maybe you should check out
and then you would not be trying to change the
subject like you are here on a sports message
board in the football section.

re: UT across the board is a better university than SMU in almost every aspect of the school.
Not in the academics of their football teams nor do they
compare in the scope of arrests and/or criminal behaviors of their
football teams in recent times. And by the way this is a sports
message board and we are in the football section so thats why
it's relevant to discuss the academics/criminal behavior
of the football teams and not the entire university.

Our theatre school rocks.
Can't find any rankings online, but they were number three when I started there... I know there was a bit of slippage while I was there.... but the only rankings I can find are in extracurriculars in the Princeton Review, and that's just "most well attended theatre performances" or some such.
So take that! ... or whatever! I can't find any rankings to back up any point I am trying to prove! Booyah!
(I even registered with Princeton Review.... darn them!)
