The rumor here this morning is Fran is out, Tuberville is going to A&M and Petrino to Auburn. Just a rumor but interesting. I had figured Tuberville for the leading candidate at Arkansas since most (other than Broyles) wanted him the last time, and he is from Arkansas.

Why would Tuberville go to College Station? Auburn is a better place. Fran leaving would not be a surprise, even before Newsletter-Gate. The Petrino idea means he is vickless.

Auburn has perhaps the most fickled fans in the country. They do not just threaten to fire after a bad season, they threaten after a bad play. I would imagine that Tuberville would like a better contract with a bigger buyout than he has. (I do not know what he has, I am just speculating.) I have heard more than once that he wanted out of Auburn because of the "what have you done for me lately" attitude. That said, I do not imagine A&M would be any better, but he would have the opportunity to hammer out a better contract perhaps.
I suspect that Tuberville might have some restriction moving inside of the SEC. A&M certainly has some wallets that could make Auburn folks blush. And guess what, the first time any coach loses to UT at the Cult on the Brazos, he's in hot water. Like I said, earlier, I'll believe that Fran gets fired when I see it. He beat the Longhorns last year and if he beats Nebraska this week, the drumbeats will slow. If he loses to the Horns this year, he's toast.

Wouldn't be so sure of that. Auburn has one of the top 10 boosters in the country in Bobby Lowder.
