Stallion, if you hated SMU's scheduling the past two years and you hate this year's basketball schedule, you are going to hate Mason's scheduling.

Unnamed Sources close to Bowden.

:)

Really, he's thrown his name out there. The real question is whether he's actually interested, or if he's just trying to increase his market value by doing so.

An SMU alum shaking Bowden's hand and talking up the position doesn't qualify as "unnamed sources close to Bowden".

Obviously they do, but obviously nobody knows that one of the finalist when PB got the job was Chris Wilson, DE and ST coach at OU. He is from the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and comes highly recommended.

a name that i don't think has been mentioned is John Blake. Blake's got D-1 head coaching experience (OU), has Dallas ties from his time as a coach with the Cowboys (and a couple superbowl rigns to wear as well) under J.Johnson and Switzer. most recently has been at Nebraska as D-line coach and is now an assistant defensive coach at UNC.

he's considered one of the nations best recruiters - Stoops national titles all came with Blake's players. the classes he got to NU were in the top 10 (his first year as their head recruiter they were considered the #1 class by many)

he's only 45 years old, so he' relatively young in coaching years.

just another name that seems plausible to get to be our HC who has D-1 HC experience at a major program, NFL exp w/ rings (and 5 probowl linemen on his squads) and has seen the innards of some premier programs, but might bite at another shot to be a head coach.

How about we get a head coach that has a name and that can actually coach and run a D-1 program, and have him hire a strong assistant coaches who can recruit the hell out of Texas?
