Semi-related tangent... but it sure does "feel" like an overly extended slump for DM - I haven't reviewed recent numbers for him, just watching in person, but he doesn't seemed to have ever regained his initial production... or anything really close to it. I'd rather JW not have a similar lag prior to recovery... which I'm still waiting patiently for.

It was not a threat last year, it was just frustration. Please do not speculate on the future of PB. He can be retained if the school cannot bring someone in any better, and I doubt they can. Plus, there are CLAUSES in the NCAA regulations that allow players to transfer if the coach that recruited them is fired. And Willis is lucky and thankful to be at SMU!

It would be a TERRIBLE mistake for Willis to transfer now. He is the ONLY QB that we have with starting experience, which virtually guarantees him a starting QB slot even with a new coach. If he transfers, it would probably have to be to a Division II school where he still wouldn't have quite the assurance that he would start like he has here. Additionally, would it be worth it to settle for a school that is not as well thought of academically? Not a smart choice at all! Plus some of his hour (does SMU still have Nature of Man?) probably wouldn't transfer so he would have to make those up to get his degree. Again, IMO major mistake on his part to make a move!

Recovery from what?

Recovery from repeat performances less than the bar he set initially.

I bet Willis is eagerly awaiting his chance to become the next James Street in the wishbone under Paul Johnson.

No, there aren't.

Here's a link to the 2007-2008 NCAA D1 manual:

http://www.ncaa.org/library/membership/ ... manual.pdf

Could you point out the clauses you're referring to?

I think he wants to throw the ball 60 times a game. The way we run it, we should!

Far worse than some of the dumbest explanations and reasonings on this board is a doubt that a Division I school in Dallas, with the facilities and opportunities to recruit that we possess, cannot do any better than this current micky mouse staff.

That is absurd.

Bring in a staff that has a vision, creates a workplace environment built upon trust, discipline, and love for another and a solid grasp of organizational management.

Bullies stop being cool about the 6th grade and motivating by fear and belittlement will get you a shootout victory against North Texas and beat in overtime when you had a chance to put the opposition away, twice.

I'm not gonna bag on Bennett as a man for trying to eat this dookieburger; he wasn't the one offering the job. But pick up any introductory level business management course and try to find a coach that applies some of the most basic principals in leadership, delegation, and accountability the next time around.

While I dont have 8 year old daughters at my disposal to point out glaring deficiencies about the staff, as my 80 plus grandma said after the 0-12 season, "I dont care what the problems were, if you are a 100% failure in any walk of life, it's time to change your approach."

I dont know what teams ya'll are watching, but I've seen the same approach for 6 years and if you have doubts that this place could hire someone better, pick up a soccer schedule and figure out how the same place can employ the best college soccer coach in the country.

Before long I will have even the wanna be christians using profanity. Way to go JT! Keep copies of my post so you can tell me later, "bigdaddy you were right."

Now, back to the subject. Too much reading for my dumb [deleted]. Lawyers can do remarkable things in a court room, or petitioning the NCAA. Serge got here, as well as Colt Brennan going to Hawaii from the rocky mountains, and many more I do not care to list. Seems like Brennan has been at Hawaii forever. Nothing is impossible. You should know that by this season!

Brennan was arrested, kicked off the CU team, then kicked outta school. Went to jail. basically got convicted and almost was left with nothing. June Jones gave him the opportunity to walk on. then he earned a scholarship. he hasnt been at Hawaii forever only 3 years

Once a student has signed a LOI...its a legally binding contract that they MUST obey...dont know if obey is the right word...there have been cases where a coach recruits a player then leaves...i.e Bob Huggins at KState. The kid tried to back out but couldnt, the school wouldnt let him leave either. but when bball season tips off, guess what jersey that kids going to be in...a K-state one...

so just keep giving us your no nonsense BS
